WEATHER BULLETIN FOR CFB GREENWOOD PREPARED BY METOC HALIFAX AT
4:03 PM AST SUNDAY 19 JANUARY 2025.

LOCATION: CFB GREENWOOD (CYZX)

TYPE: SNOWFALL ADVISORY IN EFFECT
DESCRIPTION: SNOWFALL AMOUNT OF 5 CM OR MORE IN 12 HOURS
VALID: 20/0400Z TO 20/1200Z (20/0000 AST TO 20/0800 AST)

COMMENTS: RECENT MODEL RUNS ARE NOW SLIDING THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM
FURTHER SOUTH THAN ORIGINALLY FORECAST. DUE TO THIS FURTHER SOUTH
TRACK, MORE SNOW IS EXPECTED OVER THE CFB GREENWOOD AREA TONIGHT
THAN RAIN OR DRIZZLE. PATCHY RAIN MIXED WITH SNOW WILL DEVELOP THIS
EVENING BEFORE CHANGING OVER TO SNOW NEAR MIDNIGHT THEN BECOMING AT
TIMES HEAVY OVERNIGHT BEFORE TAPERING TO FLURRIES IN THE MORNING.
THERE IS A RISK OF FREEZING RAIN OR ICE PELLETS AS THE TEMPERATURES
DROP TOWARDS THEN BELOW FREEZING BEGINNING NEAR MIDNIGHT WHICH MAY
REDUCE THE TOTAL SNOWFALL. TOTAL SNOWFALL DURING THIS EVENING IS
EXPECTED TO BE 5 TO 10 CM WITH LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS OF FLURRIES
CONTINUING BEYOND THE PERIOD.
IF THIS SYSTEM TRACKS FURTHER NORTH THAN CURRENTLY FORECAST, RAIN
OR DRIZZLE WILL CONTINUE LONGER AND EXPECT LOWER AMOUNTS OF SNOW.

NEXT UPDATE: THIS BULLETIN WILL BE UPDATED BY 20/0700Z (20/0300 AST)
