UPPER TROUGH AXIS REMAINS TO OUR WEST THIS
EVENING, AND WILL CONTINUE ITS SLOW EASTWARD PROGRESSION
OVERNIGHT. HAVE SEEN SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS THIS
EVENING, AND EXPECT THE SHOWERS TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE NIGHT
(AND MAYBE A RUMBLE OF THUNDER) OUT AHEAD OF THE TROUGH. STILL
LOOKING AT AN OVERNIGHT/EARLY MORNING COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE WHICH
COULD KICK UP WIND ACROSS SE OREGON AND THROUGH THE SNAKE PLAIN
BRINGING GUSTS TO 25 MPH. CURRENT FORECAST IS ON TRACK.

THE FLOOD WARNINGS REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR THE SILVIES RIVER NEAR
BURNS, OREGON AND THE MALHEUR RIVER NEAR VALE, OREGON. THOSE
WITH INTERESTS NEAR WATERWAYS SHOULD REMAIN ALERT TO CHANGING
CONDITIONS.

SHORT TERM...TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT...A WEAK SHORTWAVE WILL
TRACK ACROSS EAST OR INTO SOUTHWEST ID THIS AFTERNOON, AND WILL
LINGER OVER THE CENTRAL ID MOUNTAINS INTO TONIGHT. THIS WILL BRING
LIGHT RAIN AND SNOW TO THE AREA, WITH SNOW LEVELS REMAINING AROUND
5000-6000' MSL. AS THE MAIN WAVE MOVES EAST THIS AFTERNOON, SOME
PARTIAL CLEARING THIS AFTERNOON WILL DESTABILIZE THE ATMOSPHERE,
WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS DEVELOPING THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING ACROSS
EASTERN OR AND SOUTHWEST ID FROM THE SNAKE BASIN SOUTH. SOME OF THE
SHOWERS MAY PRODUCE THUNDER, GRAUPEL AND GUSTY WINDS UP TO 35 MPH
DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. CONDITIONS START TO DRY OUT MIDDAY
SATURDAY LASTING INTO SUNDAY. NEXT SYSTEM ARRIVES LATE SUNDAY INTO
MONDAY WITH PRECIPITATION BECOMING WIDESPREAD LATE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO
MONDAY MORNING. SNOW LEVELS LINGER AROUND 4000-5500' MSL WITH THIS
SYSTEM.

LONG TERM...MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...A LARGE UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL
BRING COOL AND UNSETTLED CONDITIONS THROUGH THE EXTENDED. THE FIRST
SYSTEM WILL BRING SHOWERS TO THE AREA ON MONDAY WITH A GREATER THAN
70% CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION IN ALL AREAS. A LOW (LESS THAN 15%)
CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP AHEAD OF THE TROUGH AXIS AND
COLD FRONT ON MONDAY. SNOW LEVELS WILL GENERALLY BE 4000-5500 FT
MSL. WINDS WILL BE GUSTY ON MONDAY, ESPECIALLY ACROSS PORTIONS OF
SOUTHEAST OREGON AND FAR SOUTHWEST IDAHO NEAR THE NEVADA BORDER
WHERE GUSTS TO AROUND 50 MPH ARE POSSIBLE. THE COLD FRONT WILL PUSH
THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT WITH PRECIPITATION DECREASING BY TUESDAY
MORNING AS THE SYSTEM EXITS TO OUR EAST. OVERALL, LIGHT TO MODERATE
PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS CAN EXPECTED WITH THIS SYSTEM. SNOW LEVELS
WILL FALL TO NEAR VALLEY FLOORS TUESDAY MORNING BEHIND THE FRONT,
BUT LITTLE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED BY THAT POINT. WINDS WILL
REMAIN GUSTY ON TUESDAY, STRONGEST IN THE MAGIC VALLEY.

ADDITIONAL WEAK SYSTEMS ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS OUR AREA
WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY AS A LONGWAVE TROUGH SETS UP OVER THE
WESTERN U.S. THIS PATTERN WILL PROVIDE A 20-50% CHANCE OF SHOWERS ON
WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY WITH A 40-70% CHANCE ON THURSDAY AS A DEEPER
SYSTEM MOVES THROUGH. SNOW LEVELS ARE GENERALLY EXPECTED TO
FLUCTUATE AROUND 3000-4500 FEET WITH LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS IN THE
MOUNTAINS. TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO AVERAGE AROUND 5-10 DEGREES
BELOW NORMAL, THEN WARM SLIGHTLY TO CLOSER TO NORMAL BY FRIDAY.
BREEZY WINDS CAN ALSO BE EXPECTED WITH EACH PASSING SYSTEM.
