THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORTON HAS ISSUED A  
 
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...  
NORTHWESTERN HARTFORD COUNTY IN NORTHERN CONNECTICUT...  
SOUTHWESTERN HAMPDEN COUNTY IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS...  
 
* UNTIL 615 PM EDT.  
 
* AT 213 PM EDT, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED REPEATED ROUNDS OF  
THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. BETWEEN  
0.5 AND 2.5 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN. THE EXPECTED RAINFALL RATE  
IS 1 INCH IN 1 HOUR. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS UP TO 3 INCHES  
ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNED AREA. FLASH FLOODING IS ONGOING OR  
EXPECTED TO BEGIN SHORTLY AS STORMS RE-DEVELOP OFF THE TERRAIN OF  
THE BERKSHIRES AND LITCHFIELD HILLS AND MOVE OVER THE SAME AREAS.  
 
HAZARD...FLASH FLOODING CAUSED BY THUNDERSTORMS.

IMPACT...RAPID RISES ON SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS, AS WELL AS  
FLASH FLOODING OF URBAN AREAS, HIGHWAYS, STREETS AND  
UNDERPASSES, AS WELL AS OTHER POOR DRAINAGE AND LOW-  
LYING AREAS.  
 
* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING INCLUDE...  
HARTFORD, WEST HARTFORD, BRISTOL, WESTFIELD, WINDSOR, FARMINGTON,  
SIMSBURY, BLOOMFIELD, AVON, SUFFIELD, GRANBY, CANTON, SOUTHWICK,  
BURLINGTON, EAST GRANBY, HARTLAND, RUSSELL, GRANVILLE, BLANDFORD  
AND TOLLAND.
