FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
242 PM EDT WED APR 2 2025

DISCUSSION

SOUTHEAST WINDS HAVE PICKED UP TO 8-12 MPH WITH GUSTS TOWARD 20 MPH
THIS AFTERNOON WITH LOW CLOUDS SLOWLY BREAKING UP. THERE STILL REMAINS
A SLIGHT CHANCE OF A SHOWER OR ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM MAINLY AFTER 3-5PM
AND INTO THE EVENING BEFORE THESE CHANCES DIMINISH LATE. THE BEST CHANCE
FOR THIS WILL BE IN THE CSRA AND WESTERN MIDLANDS. TONIGHT, SOME PATCHY
FOG MAYBE POSSIBLE BUT ELEVATED SOUTHERLY WINDS MAY KEEP THIS AT BAY.
HIGH PRESSURE THEN CONTINUES TO RIDGE OVER THE AREA OVER THE NEXT COUPLE
DAYS WITH TEMPERATURES NEAR 90 THURSDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND WITH WINDS
GENERALLY OUT OF THE SOUTH. THESE SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL KEEP SOME LOW LEVEL
MOISTURE OVER THE AREA WHICH WILL KEEP MINIMUM RH GENERALLY AROUND 40
PERCENT OR HIGHER EACH DAY INTO THE WEEKEND. THE NEXT CHANCE FOR WIDESPREAD RAIN
CONTINUES TO LOOK LIKE IT WILL BE LATE SUNDAY INTO EARLY MONDAY MORNING.

FOG POTENTIAL THROUGH TONIGHT: PATCHY FOG POSSIBLE.
