A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE EXTENDING ALONG THE ENTIRE  
LENGTH OF THE APPALACHIANS WILL BRING THE COLDEST  
TEMPERATURES OF THIS CURRENT ARCTIC OUTBREAK ACROSS  
THE REGION THIS MORNING. THE RIDGE WILL DRIFT EAST  
AND OFF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY.  
 
OTHER THAN SOME LIGHT SNOW OR FLURRIES TODAY AS THE  
DEVELOPING LIGHT SOUTHWEST WIND ASCENDS THE NORTHWEST  
MOUNTAINS AND LAUREL HIGHLANDS, CONDITIONS WILL BE  
MOSTLY SUNNY AND DRY THIS MORNING, FOLLOWED BY A LAYER  
OF MID LEVEL CLOUDS SPREADING OVER THE STATE THIS  
AFTERNOON.  
 
HIGH TEMPERATURES TODAY WILL RANGE FROM THE SINGLE  
DIGITS OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN TO THE TEENS IN THE  
CENTRAL VALLEYS AND SUSQUEHANNA REGION. THE MERCURY  
COULD REACH THE LOW 20S IN THE GREATER PHILLY AREA.  
 
VARIABLE AMOUNTS OF MID LEVEL CLOUDS AND A LIGHT  
SOUTHERLY BREEZE WILL LEAD TO HIGHER, BUT STILL  
COLD TEMPERATURES MAINLY IN THE SINGLE DIGITS FOR  
LOWS EARLY THURSDAY.  
 
A MODERATION IN TEMPERATURES WILL OCCUR THURSDAY  
AND FRIDAY WITH TEMPERATURES REBOUNDING 10 TO 15  
DEGREES FROM TUESDAY'S AND WEDNESDAY'S HIGHS. THESE  
READINGS WILL STILL BE SEVERAL DEGREES BELOW THE  
HISTORICAL AVERAGE FOR LATE JANUARY.  
 
HOWEVER, A FRESHENING SOUTHWESTERLY BREEZE, GUSTING  
INTO THE TEENS AND LOW 20S OVER THE WESTERN HALF OF  
THE STATE, WILL KEEP WIND CHILLS MAINLY IN THE SINGLE  
DIGITS TO TEENS.  
 
TEMPERATURES WILL RISE TO NEAR NORMAL THIS WEEKEND.
