SYNOPSIS  
LIGHT RAINFALL AND GUSTY SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL  
CONTINUE TONIGHT. WARMING TEMPERATURES AND ANOTHER CHANCE FOR  
LIGHT RAINFALL CAN BE EXPECTED THIS WEEK. A MORE ACTIVE PATTERN  
WITH STRONGER FRONTAL SYSTEMS IS PROBABLE THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND  
LIKELY NEXT WEEK.  
 
 
   
DISCUSSION  
LIGHT SHOWERS ARE MOVING IN WITH A WEAK FRONT.  
SOUTHERLY WINDS ARE INCREASING, BUT ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW  
ADVISORY LEVEL, APART FROM SOME OF THE HIGHER PEAKS. THE STRONGER  
WINDS WILL BECOME MORE FOCUSED IN DEL NORTE COUNTY TONIGHT. HIGH  
PRESSURE RIDGING WILL GENERALLY BUILD IN THIS WEEK, BRINING WARMER  
DAYTIME TEMPERATURES. ANOTHER WEAK FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL CLIP THE  
REGION LATE TUESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY, AND WILL BRING SOME MORE  
LIGHT RAINFALL. THIS RAINFALL WILL MOSTLY BE FOR DEL NORTE COUNTY  
WHERE AROUND A HALF INCH IS FORECAST. PERIODS OF CLEARING  
CONDITIONS AND ABUNDANT SURFACE MOISTURE WILL CREATE A FAVORABLE  
ENVIRONMENT FOR OVERNIGHT AND EARLY MORNING FOG DEVELOPMENT,  
PARTICULARLY STARTING WEDNESDAY NIGHT.  
 
THE HIGHEST PROBABILITY FOR DRY WEATHER IS THURSDAY. THE CHANCES  
FOR AT LEAST SHOWERS BEGIN TO INCREASE FRIDAY IN ADVANCE OF WHAT  
WILL LIKELY BE THE FIRST OF MULTIPLE STRONGER WEATHER SYSTEMS,  
WHICH WOULD MOVE THROUGH THIS WEEKEND AND NEXT WEEK. ENSEMBLES  
CONTINUE TO RESOLVE ATMOSPHERIC RIVER TYPE CHARACTERISTICS WITH  
THESE SYSTEMS, THUS STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS AND HYDROLOGICAL  
CONCERNS WILL BE LIKELY IF THE STORM TRACK REMAINS FAVORABLE.  
CHANCES FOR GREATER THAN 2 INCHES OF RAINFALL IN 24 HOURS ARE  
MODERATE THROUGH THE WEEKEND, BUT CURRENTLY INCREASE BEYOND THE  
WEEKEND. NBM PROBABILITY OF WIND GUSTS OF 45 TO 50 MPH HAVE  
INCREASED AND ARE MODERATE TO HIGH ON SATURDAY. /JJW

THIS AFTERNOON. SHRA WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE IN COVERAGE LATE THIS  
AFTERNOON. BRIEF PERIODS OF IFR CONDITIONS WITH THE HEAVIEST SHOWERS  
POSSIBLE FOR KCEC AND KACV THROUGH AT LEAST 02Z. HIGH-RES MODELS  
SUGGEST THIS SHOWERS GRADUALLY TAPERING OFF DURING THE EVENING HOURS  
FROM SOUTH TO NORTH, WITH LINGERING SHOWERS INTO TUESDAY MORNING. IFR  
CEILINGS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOPED TONIGHT AT UKI. SURFACE WINDS  
FROM S AT 5 TO 15 KT, WITH OCCASIONAL HIGHEST GUSTS AT CEC.  
STRONGER WINDS ALOFT WILL CONTINUE TO GENERATE LLWS FROM 35 TO 45

SOUTHERLY WINDS CONTINUES STRENGTHENING ACROSS THE  
NORTHERN WATERS THIS AFTERNOON, WITH STRONG TO NEAR GALE BREEZES.  
LOCALLY GALE FORCE GUSTS IS FORECASTED AROUND PT ST GEORGE THROUGH  
LATE AFTERNOON. WHILE MODERATE TO FRESH BREEZES FOR THE SOUTHERN  
WATERS. WINDS WILL SLOWLY DIMINISH NORTH OF CAPE MENDOCINO TONIGHT,  
BUT INCREASE AGAIN ON TUESDAY MORNING. ANOTHER LARGE WESTERLY SWELL  
IS EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS THE WATERS LATE TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY  
AFTERNOON. CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN HAZARDOUS FOR SMALL CRAFT THROUGH  
AT LEAST WEDNESDAY, BEFORE A SERIES OF STRONG SYSTEM MOVES THROUGH  
LATE THIS WEEK AND WEEKEND.

HIGH TIDES ARE PREDICTED TO BE AT 7.96 FEET @  
12:14 PM ON TUESDAY. TIDES WITH COMBINED WITH SURGE AND ANOMALY  
MAY REMAIN BELOW ADVISORY FOR TUESDAY, BUT THIS CAN CHANGE  
DEPENDING OF THE PERSISTING STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS. MINOR COASTAL  
FLOODING AROUND HUMBOLDT BAY, INCLUDING KING SALMON AND JACKSON
