KEY MESSAGES:  
 
- NE ZONES SEE SUBZERO TEMPS THIS MORNING AND SNOW SHOWERS TODAY  
 
- SUNDAY SYSTEM BRINGS THREAT OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN  
 
- STRETCH OF ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES TO BEGIN THIS WEEKEND  
 
WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:  
 
NORTHWEST FLOW ALOFT WILL BRING A WEAK CLIPPER SYSTEM TO MOVE  
ACROSS THE REGION TODAY, PROVIDING LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS FOR AREAS  
MAINLY NORTHEAST OF GLASGOW TO SIDNEY ON FRIDAY. UP TO AROUND AN  
ADDITIONAL HALF INCH OF SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME. IT WILL  
ALSO BRING A WARM FRONT THROUGH THE AREA WHICH WILL PUSH THE  
ARCTIC AIR TO THE EAST.  
 
THE REGION DRIES OUT ON SATURDAY WITH AN UPPER RIDGE MOVING  
THROUGH THE AREA. MEANWHILE, A SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL MOVE INLAND  
FROM THE PACIFIC AND REACH THE FORECAST AREA SUNDAY MORNING.  
 
WARM AIR ALOFT COMBINED WITH BELOW FREEZING MORNING TEMPERATURES  
WILL ALLOW FOR A GOOD CHANCE OF FREEZING RAIN AT SOME POINT  
SUNDAY OVER MOST OF THE FORECAST AREA WITH A CHANCE OF LIGHT RAIN  
ONCE THE TEMPERATURES RISE ABOVE FREEZING. MOST AREAS ALONG AND  
NORTH OF US 2 HAS A 60 TO 80 PERCENT OF ACCUMULATING A 0.01 INCH  
OR MORE OF ICE ON SUNDAY.  
 
TEMPERATURES WILL BE ABOVE NORMAL NEXT WEEK. AN UPPER RIDGE IS  
EXPECTED MONDAY AND TUESDAY AND WHILE THE RIDGE FLATTENS SOMEWHAT  
ON CHRISTMAS DAY WITH A SHORTWAVE TROUGH, MOST OF THE MOISTURE  
STAYS TO THE SOUTH.  
 
FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:  
 
THE WARM FRONT TODAY WILL BRING A WIDE OF TEMPERATURES WITH HIGHS  
FROM THE TEENS NE TO THE 50S SW AND WHILE THE CONFIDENCE IN  
TEMPERATURES IS HIGH IN THE EXTREMES, IT LOW IN BETWEEN DUE TO  
EXACTLY WHERE THE FRONT WILL BE THIS AFTERNOON. CONFIDENCE IS  
MODERATE ON THE FREEZING RAIN ON SUNDAY. CONFIDENCE IS HIGH ON THE  
ABOVE NORMAL MOST OF THE TIME SATURDAY AND BEYOND.

DISCUSSION: THERE WILL BE VARYING AMOUNTS OF LOW AND MID LEVEL  
CLOUDS ACROSS THE REGION THIS MORNING AND SKIES WILL CLEAR FROM  
WEST TO EAST THIS AFTERNOON. THERE WILL BE OCCASIONAL MVFR CIGS  
MAINLY NORTH ALONG THE CANADIAN BORDER TODAY LIGHT SNOW IS  
POSSIBLE AT TIMES. SKIES WILL BE MOSTLY CLEAR THIS EVENING WITH  
SOME INCREASE IN MID LEVEL CLOUDS LATE TONIGHT.  
 
WINDS: EAST TO SE TODAY AT 5 TO 15 KNOTS BECOMING LIGHT AND
