DISCUSSION

KEY MESSAGES:
- WINTRY TRAVEL IMPACTS LIKELY FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY TRAVELERS
BEGINNING THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

- STABLE BUT COOL TEMPS WILL DROP ANOTHER 10 DEGREES BEHIND THE
THURSDAY'S FRONT PASSAGE LASTING INTO THE WEEKEND.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
TUESDAY: THE SYSTEM WILL EXIT MONTANA FULLY BY THE AFTERNOON
HOURS. SOME LINGERING LIGHT SNOWFALL ACROSS THE BIG SHEEP
MOUNTAINS EAST INTO NORTH DAKOTA IS POSSIBLE INTO THE LATE MORNING
HOURS. TUESDAY AFTERNOON WILL BE COLD WITH HIGHS BELOW FREEZING
FOR MOST LOCATIONS. SUN SHOULD APPEAR FOR MOST LOCATIONS BY THE
AFTERNOON BEFORE MORE CLOUDS MOVE IN TONIGHT.

MOSTLY DRY AND COOLER CONDITIONS ARE THEN EXPECTED THROUGH
THURSDAY MORNING.

THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY, NORTHWEST FLOW ALOFT WILL PULL A
SHORT WAVE DOWN WITH IT. THIS IN TURN WILL FORM A LOW PRESSURE
SYSTEM OVER SOUTHERN ALBERTA AND DRAG IT IN THROUGH MONTANA ALONG
WITH ANOTHER NEWLY DEVELOPED ARCTIC FRONTAL PUSH. THE BULK OF THE
SNOW'S TRACK LOOKS TO BE THROUGH NORTH CENTRAL TO SOUTHEAST
MONTANA WITH THIS FRONTAL PASSAGE, BUT THAT SHOULD STILL BE ABLE
TO AFFECT THE SOUTHWESTERN HALF OF THE GGW CWA WITH THE TRACK
STILL HAVING RANGE TO SLIDE NORTHEAST OR SOUTHWEST SEVERAL
COUNTIES WITHIN FUTURE FORECASTS WHICH REDUCED CONFIDENCE.

TEMPS WILL DROP AN ADDITIONAL 10 DEGREE BEHIND THE COLD FRONT AND
STAY THAT WAY THROUGH AT LEAST THE WEEKEND ALONG WITH LINGERING
CHANCE FOR ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS THROUGH SUNDAY.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
ONE DEVIATION TO NBM IN THE FIRST 9-12 HOURS OF THE HOURLY SKY
GRIDS IN ORDER TO PLACE OVC SKIES WHERE NBM CLAIMS BKN FOR FUTURE
TAFS. OTHERWISE NO DEVIATIONS OBSERVED.

HIGH CONFIDENCE IN TEMPERATURES DROPPING OFF BEHIND A FRONT
THURSDAY NIGHT LASTING INTO THE WEEKEND.

MODERATE CONFIDENCE IN A SNOW STORM SOMEWHERE ALONG THE FRONT.

LOW CONFIDENCE IN PLACEMENT OF THE STORM'S TRACK WITH IT EXPECTED
TO SHIFT NORTHEAST OR SOUTHWEST OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL FORECAST
CYCLES.

24HR FLIGHT CAT RANGE: IFR TO VFR

DISCUSSION: IFR CEILINGS WILL RISE AND EXIT WEST TO EAST STARTING
EARLY THIS MORNING AND SHOULD CLEAR TOTALLY BY ABOUT 18-20Z.
REMAINING MVFR CEILINGS SHOULD CLEAR WITHIN A COUPLE HOURS OF
THAT. REMAINING SNOW SHOWERS THIS MORNING WILL EXIT ALL TERMINALS EARLIER
AROUND 12Z. SKC TO SCT SKIES ARE EXPECTED FOR THE AFTERNOON HOURS,
BUT MID TO HIGH CLOUDS WILL FILL BACK IN TONIGHT.

WIND: NW TO N AT 10 TO 15 KTS THIS MORNING. BACKING TO W TO NW
AND DECREASING TO LESS THAN 10 KTS THIS AFTERNOON. BECOMING LIGHT
AND VARIABLE OVERNIGHT.

EQUIPMENT: KOLF'S ASOS DATA IS NOT MAKING IT OUT TO THE INTERNET
DUE TO FAA'S TELECOMM CIRCUIT BEING DOWN AND ALSO CAN NOT BE
PHONE DIALED EITHER. KOLF TAF WILL REMAIN AMD NOT SKED UNTIL
