AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GLASGOW MT
219 PM MST WED NOV 26 2025

DISCUSSION

KEY MESSAGES:
- WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT
FOR MOST OF THE CWA.

- ARCTIC AIR WILL THEN MOVE IN FOR THE WEEKEND. LOWS SATURDAY
NIGHT COULD BE BELOW ZERO FOR MOST OF THE AREA.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
EYES ARE ON A WINTER STORM THAT IS SET TO MOVE EAST INTO THE CWA
THURSDAY EVENING. SNOW COULD PILE UP PRETTY GOOD WITH AN AREA FROM
MALTA TO WOLF POINT TO JORDAN TO ZORTMAN POSSIBLY RECEIVING 6
INCHES OF SNOW. MUCH OF IT EXPECTED TO FALL THURSDAY OVERNIGHT AND
FRIDAY MORNING WITH A SECONDARY FALL FRIDAY EVENING. THERE IS A
POSSIBILITY WITH WAA AND A PAUSE IN THE SNOW FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND
EVENING THAT SOME FREEZING DRIZZLE AND/OR RAIN COULD OCCUR,
ESPECIALLY IN THE SW ZONES. SOME ISOLATED AREAS HAVE THIS IN THE
WEATHER GRIDS AND LATER SHIFTS WOULD HAVE A BETTER HANDLE ON THIS.

SNOW GRADUALLY ENDS FROM NW TO SE FRIDAY NIGHT WITH THE GREATEST
AMOUNT EXPECTED IN THE LITTLE ROCKY MOUNTAINS (OF SW PHILLIPS
COUNTY). SOME DRIFTING SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED AS WINDS INCREASE TO
15-20 MPH AS THE SYSTEM EXITS, MAINLY OVER THE SW ZONES LATE
FRIDAY.

THESE WINDS WILL ALLOW ARCTIC AIR TO MOVE IN AND BRING THE COLDEST
AIR OF THE SEASON IN FOR THE WEEKEND. EXPECT HIGHS SATURDAY AND
SUNDAY TO BE ABOUT 20 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL WITH LOWS SATURDAY
NIGHT BELOW ZERO IN MANY AREAS.

IT LOOKS LIKE THE ARCTIC GRADUALLY LIFTS OUT MONDAY AND TUESDAY
BUT CONFIDENCE IS SHAKY ON EXACT TEMPS AT THIS POINT. ANOTHER
SYSTEM BRINGS LIGHT SNOW IN TUESDAY.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

GENERALLY WENT WITH NBM ON ALL FORECAST NUMBERS, BUT INCREASED
WINDS FRIDAY AND FRIDAY EVENING WITH A BLEND TO NBM90.

CONFIDENCE ON FOG RETURNING TONIGHT IS LOW AND LATER SHIFTS SHOULD
HAVE A BETTER HANDLE ON WHAT WILL HAPPEN. MODELS ARE IN POOR
AGREEMENT ON WHAT IS EXPECTED. TFJ

AVIATION

UPDATED: 2110Z

FLIGHT CATEGORY: VFR BUT IFR POSSIBLE TONIGHT.

DISCUSSION: FOG MAY RETURN TONIGHT. CONFIDENCE IS LOW ON WHERE AND
HOW DENSE IT WILL BE. FOLLOW TAFS FOR UPDATES.

THE NEXT WINTER STORM WILL MOVE EAST THURSDAY NIGHT WITH
SIGNIFICANT REDUCTIONS IN VISIBILITY AND CEILINGS WITH SNOWFALL
THAT CONTINUES INTO LATE FRIDAY.

WINDS: LIGHT AND VARIABLE. TFJ
