DISCUSSION

ISSUED AT 1030 PM EST FRI NOV 28 2025
NOTABLE CLOUD COVER HAS LARGELY MOVED SOUTH AND EAST AWAY FROM
THE ISLAND CHAIN, WHILE SOME LIGHT SHOWERS MOVED SOUTHWEST ACROSS
THE DISTANT STRAITS SOUTH OF THE KEYS FOR MUCH OF THE EVENING.
THE 00Z KKEY SOUNDING DEPICTED PWAT OF UNDER AN INCH, AND MOST OF
THE MOISTURE IS CONFINED TO BELOW 6000 FEET, WHERE A MARKED
INVERSION IS NOTED. THIS HELPED TO KEEP A LID ON THOSE FEW
SHOWERS AND QUELL ANY CHANCE OF LIGHTNING. IN THE MEANTIME, WINDY
CONDITIONS PERSIST, WITH FRESH TO STRONG NORTHEASTERLY BREEZES
MEASURED AT MOST MARINE OBSERVING SITES. LAND-BASED STATIONS ARE
MOSTLY OBSERVING WINDS UP TO 15 KNOTS, BUT WITH GUSTS OF 20 TO 25
KNOTS.

FOR THE ISLAND CHAIN, THE REST OF THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD WILL
LARGELY SEE CURRENT CONDITIONS PERSIST, WITH CURRENT TEMPERATURES
IN THE MID TO UPPER 60S NOT DROPPING MUCH FURTHER BY MORNING
OWING TO SST MODERATION. NORTHEASTERLY MODERATE TO FRESH BREEZES
WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH WILL CONTINUE INTO AND THROUGH TOMORROW
MORNING.

MARINE

ISSUED AT 1030 PM EST FRI NOV 28 2025
A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL FLORIDA KEYS WATERS.
FROM SYNOPSIS, A FRONTAL BOUNDARY SOUTH OF THE AREA, PAIRED WITH
A DOMINANT SURFACE HIGH OVER THE EASTERN CONUS, WILL MAINTAIN
FRESH TO STRONG NORTHEASTERLY BREEZES THROUGH SATURDAY, AND SMALL
CRAFT ADVISORIES WILL LIKELY EXTEND THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT. AS THE
FRONT DECAYS AND THE HIGH SHIFTS NORTHEASTWARD, BREEZES WILL
BEGIN TO SLACKEN BY EARLY SUNDAY. ANOTHER COLD FRONT MAY BE ON THE
HORIZON FOR THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK, REFLECTED IN THE BREEZES
TURNING AROUND THE CLOCK AHEAD OF IT. SHOWER ACTIVITY WILL WAX AND
WANE THROUGHOUT THE MARINE FORECAST PERIOD.

AVIATION

(00Z TAFS)
ISSUED AT 1030 PM EST FRI NOV 28 2025
EYW AND MTH WILL MAINTAIN VFR CONDITIONS THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.
AFTER THAT, VFR CONDITIONS ARE STILL EXPECTED TO PREVAIL AT BOTH
TERMINALS, BUT INCREASING RAIN CHANCES AND CLOUD COVER WILL BUMP
UP THE CHANCES FOR INTERMITTENT MVFR CIGS AND VISIBILITY. HOWEVER,
GIVEN THE EXPECTED TRANSIENT NATURE OF THESE EPISODES, AND THE
BEST CHANCES BEING BEYOND THE END OF THIS TAF PERIOD, EXPLICIT
MENTION OF VCSH OR LOWER CIGS IS HELD OUT FOR NOW. WINDS WILL
REMAIN AROUND 15 TO 20 KNOTS, WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 KNOTS, THROUGH
THE PERIOD, WITH AN INITIAL NORTHEASTERLY DIRECTION VEERING TO
EAST TO NORTHEAST BY 18Z.
