SYNOPSIS
 
FRESH NE WINDS IN THE SE GULF, THE STRAITS OF  
FLORIDA AND THE YUCATAN CHANNEL WILL DIMINISH TO MODERATE SPEEDS  
THIS EVENING AND SEAS WILL SUBSIDE TO LESS THAN 8 FT. MEANWHILE,  
A TIGHTENING PRESSURE GRADIENT IN THE WESTERN HALF OF THE BASIN  
WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF FRESH TO STRONG S  
WINDS THROUGH WED MORNING, AHEAD OF THE NEXT COLD FRONT. THE  
FRONT WILL COME OFF THE COAST OF TEXAS WED MORNING, REACH FROM  
SOUTHERN ALABAMA TO VERACRUZ WED NIGHT, FROM CAPE CORAL TO THE  
YUCATAN PENINSULA THU AFTERNOON, AND EXIT THE BASIN THU NIGHT  
INTO FRI. THE FRONT WILL BE FOLLOWED BY FRESH TO STRONG N WINDS  
AND ROUGH SEAS, EXCEPT FOR POSSIBLE BRIEF GALES OFF VERACRUZ THU  
AFTERNOON. WINDS AND SEAS WILL DIMINISH ACROSS THE BASIN ON FRI  
MORNING. HIGH PRESSURE WILL ESTABLISH ACROSS THE BASIN

FRESH TO STRONG WINDS AND ROUGH SEAS IN THE E  
SEMICIRCLE OF A NON-TROPICAL LOW OF 1008 MB NEAR 25N58W WILL  
CONTINUE AFFECT THE OFFSHORE WATERS N OF 21N AND E OF 62W  
THROUGH THIS EVENING AS THE LOW OPEN OPENS INTO A TROUGH AND  
MOVES N OF THE AREA. STRONG TO NEAR GALE-FORCE WINDS WILL  
PRECEDE AND CONTINUE TO FOLLOW A COLD FRONT THAT EXTENDS FROM  
31N67W TO THE TURKS AND CAICOS INTO THE WINDWARD PASSAGE. THE  
FRONT WILL REACH FROM NEAR BERMUDA TO N HISPANIOLA THIS AFTERNOON,  
AND FROM 31N60W TO PUERTO RICO WED MORNING. A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM  
IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP ALONG THIS FRONT TONIGHT INTO WED, WHICH  
WILL SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF GALE-FORCE WINDS AND VERY ROUGH  
SEAS BETWEEN BERMUDA AND THE BAHAMAS TONIGHT THROUGH WED  
AFTERNOON. AFTERWARD, WINDS AND SEAS WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH  
ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH THU NIGHT. LOOKING AHEAD, FRESH TO  
STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL DEVELOP OVER THE NE FLORIDA OFFSHORE  
WATERS ON THU AHEAD OF A STRONG COLD FRONT FORECAST TO ENTER THE  
NW OFFSHORE WATERS LATE THU INTO THU EVENING. NEAR GALE-FORCE NW  
WINDS WILL FOLLOW THIS FRONT, WHICH IS FORECAST TO REACH FROM  
BERMUDA TO THE CENTRAL BAHAMAS LATE FRI. THE FRONT WILL MOVE E OF  
THE AREA ON SAT.
