SHORT TERM

(TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY)
ISSUED AT 1252 AM CST WED NOV 27 2024

IT'S A CHILLY NIGHT WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW TO MID 30S.
THERE'S A COUPLE OF OBS SHOWING SOME FOG, BUT I DON'T EXPECT IT TO
BE WIDESPREAD GIVEN THE CLOUD COVER ACROSS THE AREA. WE WILL WARM
INTO THE MID 50S TO LOWER 60S THIS AFTERNOON AS WARM AIR
ADVECTION GETS TO WORK. A COUPLE LIGHT SHOWERS WILL BE POSSIBLE
LATE THIS AFTERNOON AS AN ELONGATED SURFACE LOW APPROACHES.
SHOWERS WILL INCREASE IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY AFTER DARK AS THE
SURFACE LOW QUICKLY MOVES ACROSS THE AREA. THE COLD FRONT WILL
PASS THROUGH THE ENTIRE AREA PRIOR TO 12Z THURSDAY. THIS MEANS
TURKEY FRYING IS A GO! THERE COULD BE A COUPLE LINGERING LIGHT
SHOWERS ON THE PLATEAU THURSDAY MORNING BUT THAT'S IT.
TEMPERATURES WILL BE COOLER AGAIN WITH HIGHS IN THE MID 40S TO
LOWER 50S THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

LONG TERM

(THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH NEXT WEDNESDAY)
ISSUED AT 1252 AM CST WED NOV 27 2024

THE STORY IN THE LONG TERM FORECAST WILL BE THE COLD. FRIDAY
MORNING MAY BE THE FIRST FREEZE OF THE SEASON AT BNA WHICH WILL BE
THE LATEST FREEZE ON RECORD IN NASHVILLE. THE CURRENT LOW IS 32
DEGREES SO THERE'S AN OUTSIDE CHANCE THAT IT MAY HAVE TO WAIT
UNTIL SATURDAY MORNING. FRIDAY WILL BE CHILLY WITH HIGHS IN THE
LOW TO MID 40S AND A 10 MPH NORTHERLY BREEZE. WINDS WILL CALM
FRIDAY NIGHT AS SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE SLIDES IN FROM THE
NORTHWEST. WITH CALM WINDS, A COLD AIR MASS, AND RADIATIONAL
COOLING WE WILL DROP INTO THE 20S ACROSS THE ENTIRE AREA AND WE
COULD EVEN SEE A FEW READINGS IN THE UPPER TEENS.

A REINFORCING SHOT OF COLD AIR WILL BE ON THE WAY ON SATURDAY. A
CLIPPER SYSTEM WILL DIVE OUT OF THE CENTRAL PLAINS THROUGH THE
OHIO RIVER VALLEY BRINGING SOME MOISTURE WITH IT. A FEW SCATTERED
SNOW SHOWERS STILL LOOK POSSIBLE SATURDAY EVENING NORTH OF I-40
WITH THE BEST CHANCES BEING ALONG THE TN/KY STATE LINE. IT DOESN'T
LOOK LIKE WE'LL HAVE ANY ACCUMULATIONS WITH THIS SYSTEM. BEHIND
THE CLIPPER, CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TO BE BELOW NORMAL.
WIDESPREAD TEENS LOOK LIKELY MONDAY MORNING.

AVIATION

(06Z TAFS)
ISSUED AT 1051 PM CST TUE NOV 26 2024

SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL MOVE ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE DURING
THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. WE ALSO EXPECT VFR CEILINGS TO DEVELOP
OVERNIGHT IN ADVANCE OF AN APPROACHING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM. WITH
SURFACE WINDS SHIFTING TO THE SOUTH LATER TONIGHT, ALONG WITH THE
EXPECTED CLOUDS, THE POTENTIAL FOR RADIATION FOG APPEARS LESS
LIKELY. A WARM FRONT LOOKS TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE MID STATE
TOMORROW AFTERNOON, SETTING THE STAGE FOR LATE AFTERNOON AND
EVENING SHOWERS ALONG WITH MVFR CLOUDS.
