SHORT TERM

(TODAY THROUGH SUNDAY)
ISSUED AT 114 AM CST SAT JAN 25 2025

A SURFACE HIGH HAS SET UP EAST OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE, SO WE'RE
ALREADY PICKING UP SOME LIGHT RETURN FLOW THAT WILL HELP KICK OFF
A DAYS-LONG WARMING TREND. TEMPERATURES THIS MORNING ARE ALREADY
DOWN IN THE TEENS IN SOME AREAS, BUT AFTERNOON HIGHS WILL BE CLOSE
TO 30 DEGREES WARMER THAN OUR MORNING LOWS. THERE ARE LOW RAIN
CHANCES TOMORROW AND TOMORROW NIGHT MAINLY NEAR THE TN/AL BORDER
AS A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE TRACKS ALONG THE GULF COAST AND BRINGS
ADDITIONAL MOISTURE TO THE MID STATE.

LONG TERM

(SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH NEXT SATURDAY)
ISSUED AT 114 AM CST SAT JAN 25 2025

TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE WARMING NEXT WEEK, AND THERE WILL EVEN
BE A FEW DAYS WHEN WE FIND OURSELVES ENJOYING ABOVE-NORMAL WARMTH.
THE NEXT ACTIVE WEATHER SYSTEM LOOKS TO BEING SHOWERS TO THE
REGION LATE NEXT WEEK AND INTO NEXT WEEKEND, BUT INDIVIDUAL MODEL
SOLUTIONS ARE STILL FAR APART, SO IT'S DIFFICULT TO NAIL DOWN
SPECIFIC TIMING THIS EARLY. BOTH THE 6-10 DAY AND 8-14 DAY
OUTLOOKS FAVOR ABOVE-NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND ABOVE-NORMAL
PRECIPITATION ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE
