FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH-CENTRAL
ARIZONA AND SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PHOENIX AZ
334 PM MST MON MAR 31 2025

DISCUSSION

TEMPERATURES WILL COOL BELOW NORMAL TOMORROW AND WEDNESDAY AS A
COLD WEATHER SYSTEM DROPS INTO THE REGION. CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN
DRY TOMORROW AND THEN THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT CHANCE (15-35%) FOR A
SHOWER WEDNESDAY, FOCUSED MOSTLY IN THE HIGH TERRAIN NORTH AND
EAST OF PHOENIX, BUT CWR WILL REMAIN FAIRLY LOW AT 10-30%. THIS
AFTERNOON AND EVENING WILL BE BREEZY, PARTICULARLY ACROSS THE
WESTERN DESERTS, AND THEN THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED ON
TUESDAY, FOLLOWED BY SLIGHTLY WEAKER WINDS WEDNESDAY. EXPECT THE
HIGHEST WIND SPEEDS ACROSS SE CA, MAINLY IMPERIAL COUNTY, AND
ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF MARICOPA AND GILA COUNTIES, WHERE
GUSTS UP TO 35-45 MPH ARE ANTICIPATED. ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER
CONCERNS MAY OCCUR FOR A FEW HOURS TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING,
WHEN WINDS ARE STRONGEST AND RHS LOWEST. DESPITE STRONGEST WINDS
BEING IN IMPERIAL AND GILA COUNTIES, MINRH VALUES WILL BE MORE
AROUND 20-25%. THE MOST ELEVATED CONDITIONS LOOK TO BE FROM E
RIVERSIDE COUNTY THROUGH LA PAZ AND N MARICOPA COUNTIES TUESDAY,
WHERE MINRHS WILL FALL TO 10-15%.

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND
IN THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
