- ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY AND SATURDAY WITHIN THE  
BURNEY BASIN AND POSSIBLY THE NORTHEAST FOOTHILLS DUE TO LOW  
RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND BREEZY WESTERLY WINDS.  
 
- SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES CONTINUE INTO MID NEXT WEEK WITH  
MAINLY MINOR HEATRISK.  
 
- INCREASING HEAT ACROSS INTERIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA LATE NEXT

DISCUSSION
 
SEASONABLE HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE THIS  
WEEKEND AND INTO MID NEXT WEEK WITH MINOR HEATRISK. HIGH TEMPERATURES  
ARE FORECAST TO REMAIN IN THE MID TO UPPER 90S ACROSS THE SACRAMENTO  
VALLEY AND SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY. BREEZY WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP  
FOR PART OF THE SOUTHERN CASCADES AND INTO THE BURNEY BASIN TODAY  
AND SATURDAY DURING THE AFTERNOON/EVENING HOURS, WITH GUSTS FROM  
20 TO 30 MPH AT TIMES. THESE BREEZY WINDS ALONG WITH LOW HUMIDITY  
WILL BRING ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TO THE BURNEY BASIN  
AND POSSIBLY THE NORTHEAST FOOTHILLS TODAY THROUGH SUNDAY.  
HOWEVER, WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LOWER ON SUNDAY.  
 
HIGH PRESSURE WILL CONTINUE TO DOMINATE THE SYNOPTIC PATTERN  
ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH THE EXTENDED PERIOD. THE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE  
OVER THE FOUR CORNER WILL PUSH BACK TOWARD THE WEST AND BUILDS  
OVER THE ENTIRE WRN CONUS LATE NEXT WEEK ALLOWING HIGH  
TEMPERATURES CLIMBING INTO THE TRIPLE DIGITS. WITH THE EXPANDING  
HEAT THERE WILL ALSO BE AN INCREASING HEATRISK ACROSS INTERIOR  
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA.

SITES NEXT 24 HOURS. SURFACE WIND GUSTS UP TO 20 KTS AT NORTHERN  
SACRAMENTO VALLEY SITES FROM AROUND 23Z TODAY THROUGH 06Z  
SATURDAY. DELTA BREEZE INFLUENCED AREAS WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 KTS  
THIS EVENING. WEST-SOUTHWEST WINDS IN MOUNTAINS, GUSTING UP TO 20  
KTS THROUGH 05Z SATURDAY.
