..DISCUSSION FROM RNOFWFVEF

BREEZY NORTHWESTERLY WINDS WILL PICK UP ACROSS THE SOUTHERN GREAT
BASIN TODAY, THOUGH WINDS WILL NOT BE AS STRONG AS THEY HAVE BEEN
THE PAST FEW DAYS. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE
POSSIBLE IN THE SOUTHERN NEVADA AND WESTERN ARIZONA TODAY AND
THURSDAY, THEN IT WILL DRY OUT FRIDAY INTO THE WEEKEND.
TEMPERATURES WILL BE WELL BELOW NORMAL TODAY BEFORE SLOWLY WARMING
INTO THE WEEKEND. LIGHT WINDS WILL GIVE WAY TO BREEZY NORTH TO
NORTHWEST AGAIN FRIDAY AND THIS WEEKEND.

..DISCUSSION FROM LAXFWFSGX

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE SOUTHWEST STATES WILL MAINTAIN COOLER
THAN AVERAGE TEMPERATURES THROUGH THURSDAY. THERE WILL BE
OCCASIONAL SHOWERS WITH CHANCES FOR WETTING PRECIPITATION OF 45 TO
55 PERCENT FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND 20 TO 30 PERCENT FOR THE INLAND
EMPIRE AND FOR THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY COAST AND VALLEYS. THEN DRY AND
WARMER FOR THE WEEKEND INTO NEXT WEEK WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES
WARMING TO AROUND AVERAGE OVER THE WEEKEND AND TO 10 TO 15 DEGREES
ABOVE AVERAGE FOR INLAND AREAS FOR THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

..DISCUSSION FROM PHXFWFPSR

SOME GUSTY WINDS WILL CONTINUE FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING,
WITH THE STRONGEST WINDS ACROSS IMPERIAL COUNTY AND THE HIGHER
TERRAIN AREAS EAST OF PHOENIX AS GUSTS UP TO 25-35 MPH ARE
ANTICIPATED. ELSEWHERE, GUSTS WILL GENERALLY RANGE BETWEEN 15-25
MPH. SCATTERED SHOWER ACTIVITY WILL DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON, WITH
THE BEST CHANCES CONFINED ACROSS NORTHERN MARICOPA COUNTY NORTH AND
EAST OF PHOENIX. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS MAY ACCOMPANY SOME OF THESE
SHOWERS. THE CWR, HOWEVER, WILL REMAIN LOW AT 10-20%. MINRHS THIS
AFTERNOON WILL BE ELEVATED RANGING BETWEEN 25-35% AREAWIDE. ON
THURSDAY, SIGNIFICANTLY LIGHTER WINDS ARE EXPECTED ALONG WITH
MINRHS RANGING BETWEEN 20-30%. WELL-BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED THROUGH END OF THE WEEK.
