...WIDESPREAD RAIN FOR THE EASTERN U.S. AND SNOW RETURNING TO
PARTS OF THE WEST...

A STRONG FRONT WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE SCATTERED TO WIDESPREAD
RAIN ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST AND MID-ATLANTIC REGIONS, WITH SNOW TO
THE NORTH, AS IT PASSES THROUGH THE EASTERN STATES. MOISTURE
SURGING NORTH FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL FUEL MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF
MODERATE TO HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM THE GULF COAST TO
THE NORTHEAST STATES. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FOR
SOUTHERN MICHIGAN AND A FEW LOCATIONS IN NEW YORK, VERMONT, NEW
HAMPSHIRE AND MAINE. FLOOD WATCHES AND ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT
NEW JERSEY TO NORTHERN VIRGINIA, EASTERN TENNESSEE VALLEY, AND
FROM THE CENTRAL APPALACHIANS TO THE CENTRAL GULF COAST.

ARCTIC AIR SETTLING INTO NORTHERN-TIER STATES WILL HELP REINFORCE
A STRONG THERMAL GRADIENT NEAR THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE ON MONDAY.
THIS WILL AID IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SNOW FROM THE GREAT BASIN TO
THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN ROCKIES. TEMPERATURES ALONG THE HI-LINE
AND THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY WILL RANGE FROM THE SINGLES TO
TEENS.

MILD TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE DESERT SOUTHWEST AND THE
SOUTHEAST OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THE FLORIDA PENINSULA WILL
CONTINUE TO BE UNSEASONABLY WARM AND HUMID THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK
AND BEYOND, WITH THE PERSISTENT UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OVER THE WESTERN
ATLANTIC KEEPING COLD FRONTS FROM MAKING MUCH PROGRESS THROUGH THE
SUNSHINE STATE.
