...HEAVY RAIN/FLASH FLOODING POSSIBLE NEAR LOUISIANA TODAY/TONIGHT
AND NEAR NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI TUESDAY...

...HEAVY SNOW POSSIBLE OVER PARTS OF THE CASCADES, NORTHERN
ROCKIES, AND SIERRAS...

...SNOW/FREEZING RAIN POSSIBLE OVER PARTS OF NORTHERN NEW
ENGLAND...

A PAIR OF COLD FRONTS MOVING INTO THE WEST WILL PRODUCE RAIN NEAR
THE COAST AND INTERIOR/HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW AT TIMES NEAR THE
COASTAL RANGES AND THE NORTHERN CONTINENTAL DIVIDE THROUGH
TUESDAY. THE PATTERN REMAINS UNSETTLED DUE TO COLD AIR ALOFT
SPONSORED BY A PAIR OF UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES. SNOW TODAY AND
TONIGHT IS EXPECTED TO BE HEAVY WHICH HAS LED TO WINTER STORM
WARNINGS FOR THE CASCADES AND NORTHERN CONTINENTAL DIVIDE, WITH
GREATER THAN A FOOT OF SNOW EXPECTED WITHIN THE OREGON CASCADES.
HIGH WIND WATCHES ARE IN EFFECT EAST OF THE DIVIDE FOR PORTIONS OF
WYOMING INTO SUNDAY MORNING AS THE PRESSURE GRADIENT INCREASES
AHEAD OF THE FIRST FRONTAL ZONE.

AS A DEEP CYCLONE NEAR THE GREAT LAKES LIFTS THROUGH EASTERN
CANADA, SNOW/FREEZING RAIN IS DEPOSITED TO ITS EAST WITHIN A COLD
AIRMASS OVER PARTS OF NORTHERN NEW YORK AND INTERIOR NEW ENGLAND
THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING WHERE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE
CURRENTLY IN EFFECT.

TO THE SOUTH, THE COMBINATION OF A PRE-FRONTAL TROUGH AND THE TAIL
END OF THE CYCLONE'S COLD FRONT KEEP THE THREAT OF HEAVY RAIN IN
THE CARDS ACROSS EASTERN TEXAS, LOUISIANA, AND WESTERN MISSISSIPPI
INTO THIS EVENING, ALONG WITH A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER
PER GUIDANCE FROM THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER.

AS A CYCLONE ALOFT DEVELOPS ACROSS THE SOUTHWEST WITH TIME, RETURN
FLOW FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO LIFTS THE FRONTAL ZONE NORTHWARD INTO
THE LONE STAR STATE AND BRINGS A RENEWED THREAT OF
RAIN/THUNDERSTORMS TO TEXAS TUESDAY MORNING WHICH SPREADS
NORTHEAST ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST AND LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY DURING
THE DAY TUESDAY. SOME OF THE RAIN COULD BE HEAVY AND POSES A RISK
OF FLASH FLOODING TO AREAS AROUND NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI ON TUESDAY
AND TUESDAY NIGHT.
