SATURDAY MORNING...  
 
...HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING FOR PORTIONS OF  
THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND GULF..  
 
...WARM ACROSS MUCH OF THE NATION WITH SHOWERS AND STORMS REACHING  
THE EAST COAST...  
 
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP ALONG AND AHEAD  
OF FRONTAL BOUNDARY TRACKING EAST THROUGH THE GREAT LAKES, OHIO  
AND MISSISSIPPI VALLEYS AND THE GULF TODAY. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS  
WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE NORTHEAST THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.  
THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS AN ENHANCED RISK IN EFFECT FOR  
MUCH OF NEW YORK AND VERMONT, WITH A SLIGHT RISK FOR MOST OF THE  
NORTHEAST. HEAVY RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG THE BOUNDARY OVER THE  
LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND SOUTH TEXAS. LIGHTER RAIN IS LIKELY  
TO FALL ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN ROCKIES, NORTHERN PLAINS,  
AND UPPER MIDWEST. ON SATURDAY THE RISK FOR HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE  
LOWER, BUT STILL POSSIBLE FOR PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL APPALACHIANS  
AND EASTERN TENNESSEE VALLEY.  
 
TEMPERATURES WILL RETURN TO NEAR NORMAL THIS WEEKEND ONCE THE COLD  
FRONT PASSES THROUGH THE EASTERN STATES. MUCH OF THE MID-ATLANTIC  
AND NORTHEAST WILL HAVE HIGHS IN THE UPPER 70S TO LOW 80S. THE  
WESTERN AND CENTRAL STATES WILL BE WARMER THAN AVERAGE, WITH MANY  
LOCATIONS NEARING 10 TO 20 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE. THE HOTTEST  
READINGS ARE EXPECTED FOR THE DESERT SOUTHWEST, WHERE TRIPLE DIGIT  
HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE LIKELY TO BE OBSERVED FOR THIS WEEKEND.
