NWS WEATHER PREDICTION CENTER COLLEGE PARK MD
255 AM EDT TUE JUN 5 2018

VALID 12Z TUE JUN 5 2018 - 12Z THU JUN 7 2018

...HOT ACROSS THE CENTRAL U.S. WITH STORMY CONDITIONS FOR THE
DAKOTAS AND ALSO THE SOUTHERN PLAINS...

AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE EXTENDING ACROSS THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN
PLAINS THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK IS EXPECTED TO RESULT IN
WIDESPREAD REGIONS OF TEMPERATURES IN THE 90S FROM SOUTH DAKOTA TO
TEXAS, AND SOME 100+ DEGREE READINGS FROM WESTERN TEXAS INTO
EASTERN NEW MEXICO AND ACROSS THE DESERT SOUTHWEST. WITH AN UPPER
LEVEL TROUGH BECOMING ESTABLISHED OVER THE NORTHEAST STATES,
EXPECT PLEASANTLY COOL CONDITIONS FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR WITH HIGHS
IN THE 60S AND 70S FROM THE GREAT LAKES TO NEW ENGLAND, AND EVEN
COOLER FOR THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. COOLER CONDITIONS ARE ALSO
LIKELY ACROSS THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST WITH ONSHORE FLOW ACROSS THE
REGION.

IN TERMS OF PRECIPITATION, A LESS ACTIVE PATTERN IS FORECAST
COMPARED TO RECENT DAYS. THE GREATEST PROSPECTS FOR NOTEWORTHY
RAIN WILL BE ACROSS THE GULF COAST REGION AND FLORIDA IN THE
VICINITY OF A STALLED FRONTAL BOUNDARY, AND ALSO FOR THE NORTHERN
PLAINS AND UPPER MIDWEST AHEAD OF A SURFACE LOW AND COLD FRONT.
SOME SEVERE STORMS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE DAKOTAS ON
TUESDAY, AND THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ADDITIONAL DETAILS ON
THAT. SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS AND A FEW STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE
ACROSS THE OHIO VALLEY, MID-ATLANTIC, AND NORTHEAST U.S. IN
ASSOCIATION WITH A COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH. DRY CONDITIONS WILL
CONTINUE FOR MOST OF THE WESTERN AND SOUTHEASTERN U.S. THROUGH
WEDNESDAY.
