...UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OVER THE CENTRAL U.S. WITH PERIODS OF STORMY
WEATHER FROM THE ROCKIES TO THE OHIO VALLEY...

A STRONG UPPER LEVEL HIGH WILL REMAIN IN PLACE ACROSS THE SOUTHERN
GREAT PLAINS, SUPPORTING SUMMER-LIKE TEMPERATURES ACROSS MUCH OF
THE PLAINS AND ALSO FOR MUCH OF THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST. SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING ON THURSDAY ARE EXPECTED TO KEEP
TEMPERATURES LOWER ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL GREAT PLAINS AND
MID TO LOWER MISSOURI VALLEY. THE HOTTEST WEATHER IS EXPECTED FOR
THE LOWER ELEVATIONS OF THE DESERT SOUTHWEST AND WESTERN HIGH
PLAINS, WITH SOME 100+ DEGREE HIGHS LIKELY.

A SERIES OF UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES MOVING ACROSS THE NORTHERN
TIER OF THE NATION ARE EXPECTED TO AFFECT PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN
ROCKIES INTO THE GREAT PLAINS WITH SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS BOTH
DAYS. EPISODES OF SEVERE WEATHER ARE POSSIBLE WITH THE
THUNDERSTORM COMPLEXES THAT DEVELOP. ACROSS THE WESTERN U.S., A
PACIFIC FRONT WILL SLOW MOVE INLAND ACROSS THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST
LATE THIS WEEK, BRINGING SHOWERS INTO WESTERN WASHINGTON, OREGON
AND FAR NORTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA ON FRIDAY.

ACROSS THE EASTERN STATES, TEMPERATURES WILL GRADUALLY MODERATE TO
MORE TYPICAL JUNE AVERAGES BY FRIDAY. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF
FLORIDA, MUCH OF THE EASTERN U.S. WILL REMAIN DRY THROUGH
THURSDAY, BEFORE AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS BECOME MORE
WIDESPREAD ON FRIDAY. ACROSS FLORIDA, A LINGERING FRONTAL
BOUNDARY IS FORECAST TO PRODUCE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS
THE STATE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
