..SEASONABLY HOT OVER THE PLAINS

...PERIODS OF STORMY WEATHER FROM THE NORTHERN PLAINS INTO THE
NORTHERN MID-ATLANTIC STATES...

ACROSS THE WESTERN U.S., A NOTABLE PACIFIC FRONT WILL SLOWLY MOVE
INLAND INTO THE GREAT BASIN THIS WEEKEND, BRINGING SHOWERS INTO
WESTERN WASHINGTON, OREGON AND FAR NORTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA ON
FRIDAY AND LEADING TO MILDER TEMPERATURES.

A STRONG UPPER LEVEL HIGH ACROSS THE SOUTHERN GREAT PLAINS OVER
THE NEXT FEW DAYS SUPPORTS SEASONABLY HOT TEMPERATURES ACROSS MUCH
OF THE PLAINS AND ALSO FOR MUCH OF THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST INTO
THIS WEEKEND. THE HOTTEST WEATHER IS EXPECTED FOR THE LOWER
ELEVATIONS OF THE DESERT SOUTHWEST AND WESTERN HIGH PLAINS, WITH
SOME 100+ DEGREE HIGHS LIKELY.

A SERIES OF UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES MOVING ACROSS THE NORTHERN
TIER OF THE NATION ARE EXPECTED TO HELP DEVELOP SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS FROM PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL GREAT
PLAINS THROUGH THE MID TO LOWER MISSOURI VALLEY EASTWARD ACROSS
THE SOUTHERN GREAT LAKES INTO THE MID-ATLANTIC STATES NEAR A
FRONTAL ZONE. EPISODES OF SEVERE WEATHER ARE POSSIBLE WITH THE
THUNDERSTORM COMPLEXES THAT DEVELOP ACROSS THE NORTHERN AND
CENTRAL PLAINS PER GUIDANCE FROM THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER.

ACROSS THE EASTERN STATES, TEMPERATURES WILL GRADUALLY MODERATE TO
MORE TYPICAL JUNE AVERAGES BY FRIDAY. ACROSS FLORIDA AND THE
COASTAL SOUTHEAST, A LINGERING FRONTAL BOUNDARY AND WEAK SURFACE
LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ARE FORECAST TO PRODUCE SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE STATE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
