SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP FROM THE NORTHERN PLAINS TO
THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI/OHIO VALLEYS OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS A
SLOW MOVING SYSTEM TRACKS THROUGH THE CENTRAL U.S. CONDITIONS
CONDUCIVE FOR STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT WILL BE IN
PLACE ACROSS THE NORTH-CENTRAL STATES. THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER
HAS IDENTIFIED THE NORTHERN HIGH PLAINS AS HAVING A SLIGHT RISK
FOR SEVERE WEATHER TODAY, THEN SHIFTING EASTWARD INTO THE UPPER
MIDWEST/MIDWEST FOR EARLY IN THE WEEK. DUE TO THE SLOW NATURE OF
THIS FRONT, THE STORM MOTION WILL BE SLOW WHICH WILL INCREASE THE
LIKELIHOOD OF HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLOODING RISKS. WPC HAS SLIGHT
RISKS FOR EXCESSIVE RAINFALL COVERING PORTIONS OF THE UPPER
MIDWEST AND OHIO VALLEY IN EFFECT.

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE ALONG THE MID-ATLANTIC/SOUTHEAST COAST
WILL
HELP AID IN DEVELOPING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS INTO MIDWEEK.
THE MOISTURE, DAYTIME HEATING, AND UPPER-LEVEL ENERGY WILL AID IN
PRODUCING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WESTERN/CENTRAL GULF
COAST AND LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY TODAY.

ADDITIONALLY, ONSHORE FLOW OVER THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND PARTS OF
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA WILL AID IN PRODUCING RAIN AND HIGHEST
ELEVATION RAIN/SNOW OVER PARTS OF THE CASCADES THAT WILL BECOME
MORE SCATTERED BY MONDAY.
