...SEVERE WEATHER AND HEAVY RAINFALL ARE POSSIBLE FOR PARTS OF THE
PLAINS, MISSISSIPPI VALLEY, AND OHIO VALLEY...

..STORMS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE CAROLINAS

AS A FRONTAL SYSTEM PRESSES EASTWARD OVER THE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY,
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL INCREASE ACROSS THIS REGION IN
ADDITION TO THE WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE OHIO VALLEY AND PARTS OF
THE TENNESSEE VALLEY TODAY. A FRONT DRAPED ACROSS THE CAROLINAS
AND INTO THE TENNESSEE VALLEY WILL ALSO BE A FOCAL POINT FOR
CONVECTION TODAY. THIS CONVECTIVE ACTIVITY WILL LAST THROUGH
WEDNESDAY MORNING--WITH MOST OF THE HEAVY RAINFALL EXPECTED ACROSS
SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND SOUTHERN MISSOURI. ADDITIONALLY, A SURFACE
LOW ALONG THE WARM FRONT WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE COASTAL CAROLINAS
TODAY AND WILL PROVIDE FOCUS FOR HEAVY RAINFALL PARTICULARLY
ACROSS THE NORTH CAROLINA COAST. AS THE FRONT ENTERS THE NORTHEAST
AND LOWER GREAT LAKES BY WEDNESDAY, THE BULK OF PRECIPITATION IS
EXPECTED TO STRETCH FROM THE NORTHEAST TO THE CENTRAL GULF COAST.
BY THURSDAY MORNING, SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL LINGER ACROSS
THE MID-ATLANTIC AND NORTHEAST WHILE MOST OF NEW ENGLAND WILL
RECEIVE MOST OF THE RAINFALL. SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE A CONCERN
TODAY--WITH THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HIGHLIGHTING AN ENHANCED
RISK OF SEVERE STORMS ACROSS WEST-CENTRAL MISSOURI AND A VERY
SMALL PORTION OF EASTERN KANSAS.

HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE COOLER THAN NORMAL ACROSS MOST OF THE
NORTHEAST, MID-ATLANTIC AND PARTS OF THE OHIO VALLEY TODAY AND
WEDNESDAY. THE HIGH PLAINS WILL BEGIN TO HEAT UP BY
WEDNESDAY--WITH TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO BE NEARLY 10 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL. BY THURSDAY, THE CENTRAL PLAINS AND MIDDLE
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY CAN ALSO ANTICIPATE MUCH WARMER CONDITIONS.
