...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AND HEAVY RAINFALL TO IMPACT PORTIONS OF
THE PLAINS AND MISSISSIPPI VALLEY...

...LOCALIZED HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLASH FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE
FOR PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHWEST/SOUTHERN ROCKIES AND ALONG THE GULF
COAST...

MUCH OF THE NORTHERN/CENTRAL PLAINS AND THE MIDDLE/UPPER
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY WILL HAVE WIDESPREAD THUNDERSTORMS AS A FRONT
PASSES THROUGH AND STALLS OVER THE REGION THIS WEEKEND. A NEARLY
CONTINUOUS, DEEP PLUME OF GULF MOISTURE WILL TRANSPORT NORTHWARD
AND AID IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF STRONG CONVECTION. STRONG TO SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY DEVELOP PER THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER
TODAY ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE PLAINS AND MIDDLE/UPPER MISSISSIPPI
VALLEY. HEAVY RAINFALL OVER THIS AREA WILL LIKELY AGGRAVATE
ONGOING FLOODING, ESPECIALLY FOR PARTS OF SOUTHERN MINNESOTA AND
WISCONSIN WHERE AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 4 INCHES IS EXPECTED. SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE ALONG THE BOUNDARY INTO SUNDAY.
WPC HAS A SLIGHT RISK FOR EXCESSIVE RAINFALL AND FLASH FLOODING IN
EFFECT FOR PARTS OF THIS REGION THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY MORNING.

MONSOONAL MOISTURE AND DAYTIME HEATING WILL AID IN PRODUCING
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER PARTS OF THE SOUTHWEST/GREAT BASIN
AND THE CENTRAL/SOUTHERN ROCKIES. LOCALIZED HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE
POSSIBLE. WPC HAS HIGHLIGHTED A SLIGHT RISK FOR PARTS OF THE TEXAS
PANHANDLE AND NEW MEXICO BORDER FOR MONDAY. THE GREATEST AREAL
COVERAGE WILL BE DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON INTO THE LATE EVENING
HOURS. ADDITIONALLY, WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE
EXPECTED TO FIRE UP OVER THE CENTRAL GULF COAST. SEVERAL INCHES OF
RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. LOCALIZED
FLOODING MAY OCCUR.
