VALID 12Z MON SEP 03 2018 - 12Z WED SEP 05 2018

...CONTINUED THUNDERSTORMS WITH SEVERE AND FLASH FLOODING
POTENTIAL ARE EXPECTED FOR PORTIONS OF THE PLAINS TO UPPER
MIDWEST...

...WIDESPREAD RAIN IS FORECAST ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PLAINS INTO THE
LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY...

...POTENTIAL TROPICAL CYCLONE SEVEN COULD CAUSE HEAVY RAINFALL AND
FLOODING FOR SOUTHERN FLORIDA ON MONDAY AND PARTS OF THE CENTRAL
GULF COAST ON TUESDAY...

THE PLAINS AND UPPER MIDWEST WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE SCATTERED TO
WIDESPREAD THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH AT LEAST MIDWEEK AS A STALLING
FRONT LINGERS OVER THE REGION. SOME OF THE STORMS WILL HAVE THE
POTENTIAL TO BE SEVERE THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS THE WESTERN DAKOTAS.
NUMEROUS AREAS COULD HAVE HEAVY RAIN AND FLOODING CONCERNS OVER
THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS, WHICH WILL AGGRAVATE ONGOING FLOODING.
SLIGHT TO MODERATE RISKS OF FLASH FLOODING ARE IN EFFECT THROUGH
THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK, WITH THE HIGHEST IMPACTS EXPECTED FOR
PARTS OF IOWA AND WISCONSIN. AREAL AVERAGES OF 2 TO 4 INCHES WITH
ISOLATED 5+ INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED FROM THE CENTRAL PLAINS TO THE
UPPER MIDWEST/UPPER GREAT LAKES REGION.

POTENTIAL TROPICAL CYCLONE SEVEN IS CURRENTLY FORECAST TO TRACK
OVER THE FLORIDA KEYS TODAY AND HEADING TOWARD LOUISIANA BY
TUESDAY. ABUNDANT TROPICAL MOISTURE WILL ACCOMPANY THIS SYSTEM AND
WILL CREATE A HEAVY RAIN THREAT FOR SOUTH FLORIDA AND THE KEYS
TODAY, WHERE 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH ISOLATED
HIGHER AMOUNTS. PLEASE SEE THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER'S
WEBSITE FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS POTENTIAL TROPICAL
CYCLONE.

WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS FOR
MUCH OF THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY/CENTRAL GULF STATES. STRONG
MOISTURE CONVERGENCE WILL BE PRESENT ALONG THE GULF COAST PRIOR TO
TROPICAL SYSTEM PUSHING INLAND, WHICH WILL LEAD TO CONTINUED HEAVY
RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS ALONG THE UPPER TEXAS AND LOUISIANA COAST.
THIS MOISTURE AND AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH JUST TO THE WEST WILL
COMBINE TO PRODUCE WIDESPREAD RAIN OVER PARTS OF THE SOUTHERN
PLAINS. ONCE THE TROPICAL CYCLONE MOVES INLAND AND TRACKS FURTHER
INTO LOUISIANA THE THREAT FOR HEAVY RAIN AND FLASH FLOODING WILL
ELEVATE TO MODERATE PER WPC'S EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OUTLOOKS.
