VALID 12Z SUN NOV 04 2018 - 12Z TUE NOV 06 2018

...HEAVY SNOWS FOR PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL ROCKIES
SUNDAY INTO MONDAY...

...NUMEROUS SEVERE STORMS MONDAY EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT FOR
PORTIONS OF THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI INTO THE TENNESSEE AND OHIO
VALLEYS...

SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH EAST AHEAD OF A FRONTAL
BAND MOVING FROM THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PLAINS INTO THE LOWER
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY ON SUNDAY. FURTHER TO THE NORTH, RAINS WILL
MOVE FROM THE MID MISSISSIPPI VALLEY INTO THE GREAT LAKES AND OHIO
VALLEY. WINTRY PRECIPITATION ALONG THE NORTHERN EXTENT OF THE
PRECIPITATION SHIELD IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE SOME ACCUMULATING
SNOWS ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTHERN WISCONSIN, NORTHEAST MINNESOTA
AND THE U.P. OF MICHIGAN, WHERE WINTER STORM WATCHES AND
ADVISORIES HAVE BEEN POSTED FOR SUNDAY. THIS SYSTEM ALONG WITH A
LINGERING FRONTAL STRETCHED ALONG THE SOUTHEAST AND MID-ATLANTIC
SEABOARD, WILL HELP TO REINTRODUCE PRECIPITATION TO THE EASTERN
U.S. ON MONDAY.

ONGOING HEAVY PRECIPITATION ACROSS WESTERN WASHINGTON WILL GIVE
WAY TO SCATTERED, LIGHTER PRECIPITATION AS THE ASSOCIATED FRONTAL
BAND ADVANCES EAST OF THE REGION LATER TODAY.

MEANWHILE, PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN TO DEVELOP FURTHER EAST,
INCLUDING SOME HEAVY SNOWS ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN AND
CENTRAL ROCKIES. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES AND WINTER STORM
WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST MONTANA SOUTHWARD
ALONG THE IDAHO AND WYOMING BORDER, AS WELL AS FURTHER EAST FROM
SOUTHEAST WYOMING INTO CENTRAL COLORADO. IN ADDITION TO HEAVY
SNOW, STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL GENERATE VERY DANGEROUS TRAVEL
CONDITIONS FOR PORTIONS OF THE AREA SUNDAY INTO MONDAY.

AS THE FRONT PUSHES FURTHER EAST ON MONDAY, PRECIPITATION IS
EXPECTED TO REDEVELOP ACROSS THE PLAINS AND MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. A
MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS EMANATING FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO IS
EXPECTED TO SPREAD NORTH AHEAD OF THE FRONT, SUPPORTING NUMEROUS
SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT FROM THE CENTRAL GULF COAST
AND LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY NORTHWARD INTO THE TENNESSEE AND OHIO
VALLEYS BY LATE MONDAY. THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER IS
HIGHLIGHTING AN EXPANSIVE SLIGHT RISK AREA FOR SEVERE STORMS
ACROSS THE AREA, WITH AN EMBEDDED ENHANCED RISK AREA CENTERING
OVER THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI INTO THE TENNESSEE VALLEY. THE STORM
PREDICTION CENTER NOTES THAT NUMEROUS SEVERE STORMS WITH THE
POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGING WINDS AND TORNADOES ARE EXPECTED MONDAY
EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS ACROSS THIS REGION.
