...NUMEROUS SEVERE STORMS MONDAY EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT FOR
PORTIONS OF THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI INTO THE TENNESSEE AND OHIO
VALLEYS...

..HEAVY SNOW FOR PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN/CENTRAL ROCKIES

A STORM OVER THE UPPER GREAT LAKES/UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY WILL
PRODUCE RAIN AND SNOW OVER THE WESTERN PORTIONS OF LAKES SUPERIOR
SUNDAY EVENING INTO MONDAY MORNING. RAIN WILL DEVELOP OVER OTHER
PARTS OF THE UPPER GREAT LAKES/UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY SOUTHWARD
TO THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY, WITH SOME THUNDERSTORMS OVER
PARTS OF THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY EARLY ON SUNDAY EVENING.
THE RAIN WILL MOVE INTO THE GREAT LAKES/OHIO VALLEY BY MONDAY
MORNING LIFTING INTO CANADA OVERNIGHT MONDAY.

ONGOING HEAVY PRECIPITATION ACROSS WESTERN WASHINGTON WILL GIVE
WAY TO SCATTERED, LIGHTER PRECIPITATION AS THE ASSOCIATED FRONTAL
BAND ADVANCES EAST OF THE REGION LATER TODAY.

MEANWHILE, PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN TO DEVELOP FARTHER EAST,
INCLUDING SOME HEAVY SNOW ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN/CENTRAL
ROCKIES. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES AND WINTER STORM WARNINGS ARE
IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST MONTANA SOUTHWARD ALONG THE
IDAHO AND WYOMING BORDER, AS WELL AS FURTHER EAST FROM SOUTHEAST
WYOMING INTO CENTRAL COLORADO. IN ADDITION TO HEAVY SNOW, STRONG
GUSTY WINDS WILL GENERATE VERY DANGEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS FOR
PORTIONS OF THE AREA SUNDAY EVENING INTO MONDAY.

AS THE FRONT PUSHES FARTHER EAST ON MONDAY, PRECIPITATION IS
EXPECTED TO REDEVELOP ACROSS THE PLAINS AND MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. A
MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS EMANATING FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO IS
EXPECTED TO SPREAD NORTH AHEAD OF THE FRONT, SUPPORTING NUMEROUS
SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT FROM THE CENTRAL GULF COAST
AND LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY NORTHWARD INTO THE TENNESSEE AND OHIO
VALLEYS BY LATE MONDAY. THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER IS
HIGHLIGHTING AN EXPANSIVE SLIGHT RISK AREA FOR SEVERE STORMS
ACROSS THE AREA, WITH AN EMBEDDED ENHANCED RISK AREA CENTERING
OVER THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI INTO THE TENNESSEE VALLEY. THE STORM
PREDICTION CENTER NOTES THAT NUMEROUS SEVERE STORMS WITH THE
POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGING WINDS AND TORNADOES ARE EXPECTED MONDAY
EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS ACROSS THIS REGION.
