..HEAVY RAINFALL POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTHERN FLORIDA
 
 
   
..RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOWS RETURN TO CALIFORNIA BY LATE TUESDAY
 
 
THE TAIL END OF A COLD FRONT EXITING THE EAST COAST THIS MORNING  
WILL DROP SLOWLY SOUTHWARD THROUGH FLORIDA THE NEXT FEW DAYS. THIS  
WILL CONTINUE THE THREAT FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE  
SUNSHINE STATE, WITH LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND A MARGINAL RISK  
FOR FLASH FLOODING POSSIBLE ON MONDAY MAINLY ACROSS THE NORTHERN  
PART OF THE PENINSULA. LINGERING WIDELY SCATTERED PRECIPITATION  
MAY CONTINUE ON THE BACKSIDE OF THIS SYSTEM ACROSS THE LOWER GREAT  
LAKES AND APPALACHIANS AS WELL, WITH LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS  
POSSIBLE IN FAVORABLE DOWNWIND LOCATIONS OF LAKES ERIE AND  
ONTARIO. OUT WEST, ANOTHER SYSTEM APPROACHING THE WEST COAST ON  
TUESDAY WILL GRADUALLY INCREASE THE THREAT FOR RAIN ACROSS PARTS  
OF COASTAL CALIFORNIA AND SNOW IN THE SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAIN RANGE.  
 
THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF SURFACE  
HIGH PRESSURE THROUGH THE SHORT RANGE PERIOD WHICH WILL KEEP  
PRECIPITATION CHANCES LOW AND TEMPERATURES BELOW NORMAL. INITIALLY  
ACROSS THE EASTERN U.S., TEMPERATURES COULD BE 10 TO 15 DEGREES  
ABOVE NORMAL ON MONDAY, BUT WILL DROP TO BELOW NORMAL BY TUESDAY  
AS COLDER AIR OVER THE CENTRAL U.S. SHIFTS EASTWARD. FARTHER WEST,  
TEMPERATURES FROM THE GREAT BASIN, TO THE CENTRAL PLAINS, AND INTO  
THE OHIO/TENNESSEE VALLEYS COULD BE AS MUCH AS 10 TO 20 DEGREES  
BELOW NORMAL.
