...MAJOR WINTER STORM TO IMPACT THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY TO  
THE MID-ATLANTIC WITH HEAVY SNOW AND SIGNIFICANT RAIN/FREEZING  
RAIN...  
 
A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM OVER THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY WILL  
MOVE EASTWARD TO OFF THE MID-ATLANTIC COAST BY SUNDAY EVENING.  
THE SYSTEM WILL PRODUCE SNOW FROM PARTS OF THE CENTRAL  
PLAINS/MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY EASTWARD TO THE MID-ATLANTIC,  
WITH HEAVY SNOW DEVELOPING OVER PARTS OF THE MID-ATLANTIC EARLY  
SUNDAY MORNING BECOMING LIGHT SNOW OVER THE REGION BY SUNDAY  
AFTERNOON. THE SNOW WILL END OVER THE CENTRAL PLAINS BY SUNDAY  
MORNING AND OVER THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY/WESTERN OHIO VALLEY  
BY MONDAY MORNING. THE LIGHT SNOW WILL TAPER OFF OVER THE  
MID-ATLANTIC ON MONDAY, WHILE CONTINUING OVER PARTS OF THE  
CENTRAL/SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS. IN ADDITION, RAIN/FREEZING RAIN  
WILL DEVELOP OVER PARTS OF THE CENTRAL/SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS  
OVERNIGHT SATURDAY THAT MAY EXPAND ONTO THE PIEDMONT OF THE  
MID-ATLANTIC EARLY SUNDAY MORNING INTO SUNDAY. THE RAIN/FREEZING  
RAIN WILL END OVER THE REGION BY AFTERNOON ON SUNDAY.  
FURTHERMORE, RAIN WILL DEVELOP OVER PARTS OF THE MIDDLE/LOWER  
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY INTO THE SOUTHERN OHIO VALLEY AND TENNESSEE  
VALLEY THAT WILL EXPAND INTO THE SOUTHEAST/SOUTHERN MID-ATLANTIC  
OVERNIGHT SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY MORNING. THE RAIN WILL END OVER  
THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY BY LATE SATURDAY NIGHT AND THE  
SOUTHEAST/SOUTHERN MID-ATLANTIC BY MONDAY MORNING. RAIN WILL  
LINGER OVER PARTS OF THE TENNESSEE VALLEY ON MONDAY. THE STORM  
WILL PRODUCE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL OVER THE REGION FOR THE DURATION OF  
THE STORM.  
 
MEANWHILE, UPPER-LEVEL ENERGY OVER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WILL MOVE  
EASTWARD TO THE SOUTHERN ROCKIES WHILE WEAKENING BY SUNDAY NIGHT.  
THE SYSTEM WILL PRODUCE RAIN AND HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW OVER PARTS  
OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THAT WILL MOVE INTO THE SOUTHWEST OVERNIGHT  
SUNDAY. THE RAIN AND HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW WILL END OVER SOUTHERN  
CALIFORNIA OVERNIGHT SATURDAY. ON SUNDAY, THE SNOW OVER THE  
HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE SOUTHWEST WILL EXPAND INTO THE SOUTHERN  
ROCKIES. THE SNOW AND LOWER ELEVATION RAIN WILL END OVER THE  
SOUTHWEST/SOUTHERN ROCKIES OVERNIGHT SUNDAY. ADDITIONALLY, A  
DEVELOPING UPPER-LEVEL LOW OFF THE CALIFORNIA COAST WILL TRY TO  
MOVE ONSHORE OVER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA OVERNIGHT SUNDAY. A BROAD  
REGION OF MOISTURE WILL MOVE INTO THE CALIFORNIA COAST THAT WILL  
AID IN PRODUCING RAIN OVER PARTS OF THE COAST LATE SUNDAY EVENING  
INTO SUNDAY NIGHT. OVERNIGHT SUNDAY INTO MONDAY, THE RAIN WILL  
EXPAND INLAND OVER CALIFORNIA.
