SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND INTO EARLY FRIDAY...  
 
...MUCH BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR MONTANA INTO THE NORTHERN  
PLAINS ALONG WITH SNOW INTO THE UPPER MIDWEST...  
 
...ANOTHER SYSTEM WILL BRING RAIN AND SNOW TO CALIFORNIA  
SATURDAY...  
 
A FRONTAL BOUNDARY IN THE SOUTHEAST TONIGHT WILL BRING SOME LIGHT  
SNOW ON ITS NORTH SIDE TO THE MID-ATLANTIC AND INTO PARTS OF THE  
NORTHEAST. SHOWERS AND LIGHT RAIN FOR THE CAROLINAS SOUTHWARD WILL  
EXIT THE COAST AS THE FRONT STALLS ACROSS GEORGIA. TEMPERATURES  
WILL BE BELOW NORMAL FOR MOST AREAS NORTH OF THE THIS  
FRONT--GENERALLY I-40 OR I-20 NORTHWARD BACK TO ABOUT DALLAS. THIS  
FRONT WILL HOLD BACK MUCH COLDER AIR TO THE NORTH ACROSS MONTANA  
FRIDAY BUT THAT WILL SURGE SOUTHWARD AND EASTWARD SATURDAY AS  
TEMPERATURES FALL TO WELL BELOW ZERO ACROSS MONTANA WHERE SOME  
RECORD LOWS MAY BE APPROACHED/BROKEN FOR BOTH OVERNIGHT LOWS AND  
DAYTIME HIGHS (STILL LIKELY TO STAY BELOW ZERO). SOME OF THESE  
VALUES MAY BE NEAR MONTHLY COLD RECORDS FOR MARCH. TEMPERATURES  
SOUTH OF THE THE FRONT ACROSS AZ/NM AND WEST TEXAS WILL BE ABOVE  
NORMAL BY SEVERAL DEGREES--GENERALLY IN THE 60S/70S BUT 80S ALONG  
THE MEXICAN BORDER AND SOUTHERN FLORIDA WHERE RECORD HIGHS MAY BE  
POSSIBLE.  
 
ON SATURDAY, A SYSTEM WILL COME INTO CALIFORNIA WITH INCREASING  
RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW. RAINFALL WILL BE LOCALLY MODEST--ONE HALF  
TO ONE INCH-- ACROSS THE COASTAL RANGES INTO THE TRANSVERSE RANGE  
OUTSIDE LOS ANGELES WITH LESSER AMOUNTS IN THE INLAND VALLEY. THE  
SIERRA NEVADA WILL SEE ANOTHER ROUND OF LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW ON THE  
ORDER OF 1 TO 2 FEET WITH STRONG/GUSTY WINDS AS WELL. TRAVEL COULD  
BE VERY DIFFICULT TO IMPOSSIBLE IN SOME MOUNTAIN PASSES ABOVE  
ABOUT 6000-7000 FEET.
