SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND...  
 
...TEMPERATURES WILL BE 20 TO 30 DEGREES BELOW AVERAGE OVER THE  
NORTHERN HIGH PLAINS...  
   
..HEAVY SNOW POSSIBLE OVER THE CENTRAL ROCKIES
 
 
A WAVE OF LOW PRESSURE OVER THE SOUTHEAST WILL MOVE NORTHEASTWARD  
OUT OVER THE WESTERN ATLANTIC YET CLOSE ENOUGH TO IMPACT NEW  
ENGLAND THROUGH SUNDAY. THE STORM WILL PRODUCE RAIN OVER THE  
SOUTHERN MID-ATLANTIC SOUTHWARD TO THE CENTRAL/EASTERN GULF COAST  
AND SNOW OVER THE NORTHERN MID-ATLANTIC ON FRIDAY MORNING. THE  
SNOW WILL EXPAND INTO THE NORTHEAST AND SLOWLY TAPER OFF OVER THE  
NORTHEAST ON SUNDAY MORNING. THE RAIN OVER THE SOUTHEASTERN U. S.  
WILL MOVE EASTWARD OF THE COAST BY SATURDAY MORNING.  
 
MEANWHILE, UPPER-LEVEL ENERGY OVER THE NORTHERN HIGH PLAINS WILL  
MOVE QUICKLY MOVE EASTWARD TO THE GREAT LAKES BY SATURDAY MORNING  
THEN EASTWARD ACROSS THE NORTHEAST BY SUNDAY. THE ENERGY WILL  
PRODUCE SNOW OVER THE NORTHERN PLAINS AND NORTHERN/CENTRAL ROCKIES  
THAT WILL MOVE EASTWARD INTO THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY/UPPER  
GREAT LAKES BY FRIDAY EVENING. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE  
EASTWARD ACROSS PARTS OF THE NORTHEAST ON SATURDAY EVENING INTO  
SUNDAY.  
 
IN ADDITION, AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW JUST OFF THE NORTHWEST COAST WILL  
MOVE INLAND AND SLOWLY WEAKEN BY SATURDAY MORNING OVER THE CENTRAL  
HIGH PLAINS. THE UPPER-LEVEL LOW WILL PRODUCE COASTAL RAIN AND  
HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW OVER PARTS OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST WITH THE  
RAIN ENDING OVERNIGHT FRIDAY AS THE SNOW MOVES INTO THE  
NORTHERN/CENTRAL ROCKIES ON SATURDAY. A SECOND AREA OF ENERGY OFF  
THE WEST COAST WILL MOVE EASTWARD MOVING ONSHORE OVER CALIFORNIA  
ON SATURDAY MORNING CONTINUING TO MOVE INLAND TO THE PANHANDLE OF  
TEXAS BY SUNDAY. THIS BUNDLE OF ENERGY WILL PRODUCE RAIN AND  
HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW OVER CALIFORNIA OVERNIGHT FRIDAY. RAIN WILL  
MOVE INTO THE LOWER ELEVATIONS OF THE SOUTHWEST AND GREAT BASIN  
WHILE SNOW EXPANDS INTO THE GREAT BASIN AND INTO THE CENTRAL  
ROCKIES BY SATURDAY EVENING. THE RAIN AND HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW  
WILL BEGIN TO TAPER OFF OVER CALIFORNIA ON SUNDAY. AS THE ENERGY  
MOVES FARTHER INLAND, MOISTURE FROM THE WESTERN GULF OF MEXICO  
WILL MOVE NORTHWARD OVER THE WESTERN GULF COAST ON FRIDAY EVENING.  
ON SATURDAY, THE MOISTURE WILL EXTEND FARTHER INLAND INTO PARTS  
OF THE SOUTHERN PLAINS/LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. SHOWERS AND  
THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP OVER PARTS OF THE SOUTHERN  
PLAINS/WESTERN GULF COAST. OVERNIGHT SATURDAY, SNOW WILL EXPAND  
ONTO THE CENTRAL/SOUTHERN PLAINS INTO PARTS OF THE MIDDLE  
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AS THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVE INTO THE  
LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. BY SUNDAY MORNING, RAIN AND SNOW WILL  
MOVE INTO PARTS OF THE OHIO/TENNESSEE VALLEYS.
