EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OVER PARTS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA...  
 
...TEMPERATURES EAST OF THE ROCKIES WILL START TO MODERATE AS  
TEMPERATURES WILL BE 10 TO 25 DEGREES BELOW AVERAGE...  
 
UPPER-LEVEL ENERGY AND COLD AIR WILL AID IN PRODUCING LAKE EFFECT  
SNOW DOWNWIND FROM THE ICE FREE AREAS OF THE GREAT LAKES THROUGH  
THURSDAY MORNING. A DEEP UPPER-LEVEL LOW OVER THE PACIFIC WILL  
MOVE ONSHORE OVER CALIFORNIA ON WEDNESDAY THEN MOVES FARTHER  
INLAND TO THE NORTHERN/CENTRAL PLAINS BY THURSDAY. MOISTURE  
ASSOCIATED WITH THE SYSTEM WILL STREAM INTO CALIFORNIA AND BEGIN  
TO WANE OVERNIGHT WEDNESDAY. THE MOISTURE AND ENERGY WILL AID IN  
PRODUCING RAIN, HEAVY AT TIMES, OVER PARTS OF CALIFORNIA AND SNOW,  
HEAVY AT TIMES, OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF CALIFORNIA THROUGH  
THURSDAYS MORNING WHILE BEGINNING TO WANE. THE RAIN AND HIGHER  
ELEVATION SNOW WILL MOVE INTO THE GREAT BASIN/PACIFIC NORTHWEST  
OVERNIGHT TUESDAY. SNOW WILL EXPAND INTO THE NORTHERN  
INTERMOUNTAIN REGION AND THE CENTRAL ROCKIES BY WEDNESDAY. ON  
WEDNESDAY, SNOW WILL EXPAND INTO THE NORTHERN ROCKIES CONTINUING  
INTO THURSDAY.  
 
AS THE ENERGY MOVES INTO THE NORTHERN/CENTRAL PLAINS SNOW WILL  
DEVELOP OVER THE NORTHERN/CENTRAL PLAINS OVERNIGHT WEDNESDAY AND  
THE SNOW EXPANDS INTO PARTS OF THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY BY  
THURSDAY. THE ENERGY WILL ALSO AID IN DRAWING MOISTURE OFF THE  
GULF OF MEXICO ON WEDNESDAY MORNING INTO THURSDAY PRODUCING RAIN  
OVER PARTS OF THE WESTERN GULF COAST ON THURSDAY.
