...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR
THE EASTERN SEABOARD...

...RIVER FLOODING ONGOING IN PARTS OF THE MISSISSIPPI AND MISSOURI
VALLEYS...

..QUIET WEATHER FOR MUCH OF THE CONUS THIS WEEKEND

A COLD FRONT WILL CONTINUE PUSHING THROUGH THE EAST COAST THROUGH
FRIDAY EVENING BEFORE EXITING THE U.S. ALONG AND AHEAD OF THE
FRONT, SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY, AND THERE IS A
MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER IN THE CAROLINAS AND EASTERN
MID-ATLANTIC THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING. FARTHER WEST, FLOODING IS
ONGOING ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI AND MISSOURI RIVERS, WHERE IN SOME
AREAS 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN FELL THIS WEEK ON A DEEP SNOWPACK.
MODERATE TO MAJOR RIVER FLOODING WILL PERSIST THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

AFTER A BUSY WEEK WEATHER-WISE, THIS WEEKEND IS EXPECTED TO BE
MUCH CALMER IN MOST AREAS. THE GREAT LAKES REGION COULD SEE RAIN
AND SNOW SHOWERS THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND ASSOCIATED WITH SECONDARY
COLD FRONTS, BUT SNOWFALL TOTALS WILL REMAIN RELATIVELY LIGHT,
WITH 1 TO 4 INCHES EXPECTED WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS DUE TO
LAKE ENHANCEMENT. PARTS OF THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION COULD ALSO SEE
RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS BY SUNDAY. SCATTERED RAIN SHOWERS ARE
FORECAST FOR THE GULF COAST AND FLORIDA THROUGH THE WEEKEND, WITH
RAINFALL TOTALS MAINLY UNDER AN INCH.

TEMPERATURE-WISE, MUCH OF THE COUNTRY WILL BE GENERALLY BELOW
AVERAGE. THE BIGGEST DEPARTURES FROM NORMAL TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED IN THE SOUTHERN PLAINS, WHERE HIGHS COULD BE 15 TO 25
DEGREES BELOW AVERAGE ON SUNDAY. THE WEST COAST IS FORECAST TO SEE
TEMPERATURES OF 5 TO 15 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE, HOWEVER.
