...COLD FRONT WILL SPREAD PRECIPITATION ACROSS THE EASTERN HALF OF
THE COUNTRY THIS WEEKEND...

...COOLER TEMPERATURES WILL SETTLE INTO THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN
U.S. BEHIND THE COLD FRONT...

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP IN THE PLAINS
TONIGHT. OUT AHEAD OF THE LOW, WIDESPREAD RAIN AND SOME
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED IN THE MIDWEST AND OHIO RIVER VALLEY
THROUGH SATURDAY. OVER AN INCH OF RAIN AND LOCALIZED FLASH
FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THOSE AREAS. BACK IN THE CENTRAL
PLAINS, SOME SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE TONIGHT,
PARTICULARLY FROM OKLAHOMA INTO EASTERN KANSAS AND MISSOURI. AND
BEHIND THE LOW, COLDER AIR WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT SOME
ACCUMULATING SNOW IN THE CENTRAL HIGH PLAINS AND CENTRAL ROCKIES;
THE SNOW SHOULD TAPER OFF SATURDAY MORNING.

OVER THE WEEKEND, THE LOW WILL CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN AND PUSH
NORTHEAST, DRIVING A COLD FRONT EAST TOWARD THE EAST COAST, AND
SOUTH TOWARD THE GULF COAST. THIS WILL SPREAD CHANCES OF RAIN OVER
MUCH OF THE EASTERN HALF OF THE COUNTRY, AND A CHANGEOVER TO SNOW
-- WITH SOME ACCUMULATION POSSIBLE -- IS EXPECTED JUST BEHIND THE
LOW OVER THE EASTERN GREAT LAKES AND INTERIOR NEW ENGLAND. COOLER
AIR WILL SETTLE IN BEHIND THE FRONT, ESPECIALLY OVER THE PLAINS
STATES ON SATURDAY, AND INTO THE EASTERN U.S. ON SUNDAY. HIGH
TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE 15-25 DEGREES BELOW AVERAGE JUST BEHIND THE
FRONT, AND COULD STRUGGLE TO REACH 60 DEGREES OVER MUCH OF TEXAS,
OKLAHOMA, ARKANSAS AND LOUISIANA ON SUNDAY.

THE WESTERN U.S. WILL BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF BROAD HIGH
PRESSURE, WHICH WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO GRADUALLY WARM WITH
LIMITED TO NO PRECIPITATION. BY SUNDAY, THE PACIFIC COAST SHOULD
SEE HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 10 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE.
