THE LOWER GREAT LAKES REGION...  
 
...PRECIPITATION POSSIBLE IN THE WESTERN U.S. TO ROCKIES WITH A  
FEW WEATHER SYSTEMS...  
 
...MUCH COOLER IN THE EASTERN U.S., WHILE THE WEST COAST REMAINS  
WARM...  
 
A COLD FRONT IS FORECAST TO CONTINUE MOVING EASTWARD THROUGH THE  
EASTERN SEABOARD ON SUNDAY, WITH RAIN SHOWERS AND A FEW  
THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED ALONG IT. IN THE COLD AIR BEHIND THE FRONT,  
THE LOWER GREAT LAKES REGION AND INTO NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND COULD  
SEE SOME SNOW OF GENERALLY 1 TO 4 INCHES, WITH LOCALLY HIGHER  
AMOUNTS. RAIN SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN ALONG THE GULF COAST  
THROUGH THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK, AND PARTICULARLY INCREASING IN  
FLORIDA BY MONDAY AND TUESDAY AS A SURFACE LOW DEVELOPS.  
 
IN THE FOUR CORNERS REGION AND INTO THE SOUTHERN HIGH PLAINS, RAIN  
AND SNOW ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT AS UPPER-LEVEL ENERGY  
MOVES THROUGH. SNOW OF 2 TO 6 INCHES IS FORECAST IN THE HIGHER  
ELEVATIONS OF THE CENTRAL/SOUTHERN ROCKIES. FARTHER NORTH, A  
SURFACE LOW AND A FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL LEAD TO RAIN AND LIGHT  
SNOW SHOWERS BEGINNING BY SUNDAY EVENING IN THE NORTHERN HIGH  
PLAINS, AND BUMPING A BIT SOUTHWARD ON MONDAY. A STRONGER LOW WILL  
APPROACH THE WEST COAST LATE SUNDAY AND INTO MONDAY, AND MOISTURE  
WILL INCREASE WITH IT. SHOWERS WILL SPREAD INTO THE PACIFIC  
NORTHWEST BY SUNDAY NIGHT AND BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD ON MONDAY  
ACROSS THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST, WITH HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW INTO THE  
ROCKIES.  
 
AFTER A WARM SATURDAY, THE OHIO AND TENNESSEE VALLEYS WILL BE MUCH  
COOLER TODAY BEHIND THE COLD FRONT. THESE AREAS AND BACK INTO THE  
LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND SOUTHERN PLAINS ARE EXPECTING HIGH  
TEMPERATURES OF 15 TO 25 DEGREES BELOW AVERAGE, AND RECORD LOW  
MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES COULD BE SET ESPECIALLY ACROSS TEXAS. FREEZE  
WARNINGS AND WATCHES ARE IN EFFECT FROM THE SOUTHERN PLAINS  
EASTWARD INTO THE TENNESSEE/LOWER OHIO VALLEYS. ON THE OTHER HAND,  
A FEW RECORD HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURES COULD BE SET IN THE  
NORTHEAST THIS MORNING AHEAD OF THE FRONT, BUT TEMPERATURES WILL  
BE MUCH COOLER ON MONDAY. THE WEST COAST IS EXPECTING HIGH  
TEMPERATURES ABOUT 10 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE FOR THE BEGINNING OF  
THE WEEK.
