...A MAJOR WINTER STORM WILL PRODUCE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AND VERY  
HEAVY SNOW ACCUMULATIONS IN THE PLAINS AND UPPER MIDWEST TONIGHT  
THROUGH THURSDAY...  
 
...THE SAME STORM WILL PRODUCE HEAVY SNOW IN THE NORTHERN ROCKIES  
AND WASATCH RANGE STARTING TODAY...  
 
...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER PARTS OF  
THE SOUTHEAST...  
 
...LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL CONTINUE IN NORTHERN NEW  
ENGLAND...  
 
LOW PRESSURE OVER THE CENTRAL/EASTERN GULF COAST WILL MOVE  
EASTWARD OFF THE SOUTHERN ATLANTIC COAST BY TUESDAY EVENING. THE  
SYSTEM WILL PRODUCE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE SOUTHEAST,  
LIKEWISE, MOVING OFFSHORE OVERNIGHT. A COMPLICATED AREA OF LOW  
PRESSURE OVER THE LOWER GREAT LAKES WILL MOVE OFF THE NORTHEAST  
COAST OVERNIGHT TUESDAY. THE STORM WILL PRODUCE SNOW OVER  
NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING. IN ADDITION, RAIN  
WITH EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP OVER PARTS OF THE  
NORTHEAST/NORTHERN MID-ATLANTIC AND MOVE OFFSHORE BY LATE TUESDAY  
EVENING.  
 
MEANWHILE, A MAJOR LATE-SEASON WINTER STORM WILL DEVELOP OVER  
PARTS OF THE NORTHERN ROCKIES AND MOVE EASTWARD TO THE CENTRAL  
PLAINS/UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY BY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. HEAVY  
SNOW AND STRONG WINDS WILL PRODUCE LIFE-THREATENING TRAVEL  
CONDITIONS IN PARTS OF THE PLAINS AND UPPER MIDWEST. THE HEAVY WET  
SNOW MAY ALSO LEAD TO POWER OUTAGES. ELSEWHERE THE STORM WILL  
PRODUCE SNOW OVER THE CASCADES WITH LOWER ELEVATION RAIN FROM THE  
PACIFIC NORTHWEST COAST INLAND TO PARTS OF THE NORTHERN ROCKIES ON  
TUESDAY. BY TUESDAY EVENING, SNOW WILL SPREAD INTO PARTS OF THE  
GREAT BASIN WHILE CONTINUING IN THE NORTHERN ROCKIES. OVERNIGHT  
TUESDAY, SNOW WILL SPREAD INTO THE CENTRAL ROCKIES AND THE  
NORTHERN HIGH PLAINS. ON WEDNESDAY, SNOW WILL BECOME HEAVY OVER  
PARTS OF THE NORTHERN/CENTRAL PLAINS. EXPECT BLIZZARD CONDITIONS  
AS NORTHEAST WINDS INTENSIFY. RAIN WILL ALSO STRETCH FROM PARTS OF  
THE CENTRAL PLAINS EASTWARD INTO THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND  
WESTERN OHIO VALLEY. HEAVY SNOW WILL ALSO EXPAND OVER THE UPPER  
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY INTO PARTS OF THE UPPER GREAT LAKES OVERNIGHT  
WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY.  
 
THIS STORM IS EXPECTED TO INTENSIFY RAPIDLY LATE TUESDAY INTO  
WEDNESDAY. THIS WILL PRODUCE POTENTIALLY DAMAGING WINDS ACROSS A  
LARGE REGION INCLUDING THE SOUTHWEST STATES, GREAT BASIN AND MUCH  
OF THE MIDDLE SECTION OF THE NATION.  
 
ADDITIONAL UPPER-LEVEL ENERGY WILL MOVE INTO THE NORTHWEST  
WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY, YIELDING ADDITIONAL SNOW OVER PARTS  
OF THE NORTHERN ROCKIES AND GREAT BASIN AND RAIN IN THE PACIFIC  
NORTHWEST.
