...MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW AND BELOW AVERAGE TEMPERATURES LIKELY
OVER PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHERN ROCKIES/HIGH PLAINS THROUGH EARLY
FRIDAY MORNING...

..INCREASING EXCESSIVE RAINFALL CONCERNS OVER FLORIDA

..NORTHERN TIER AND WEST WARM UP

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM BENEATH A DIGGING UPPER TROUGH WILL CONTINUE
TO PRODUCE SNOW OVER THE MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHERN COLORADO AND
NORTHERN NEW MEXICO AS WELL AS PORTIONS OF THE TEXAS/OKLAHOMA
PANHANDLES TODAY. ANYWHERE BETWEEN 4-8 INCHES OF ADDITIONAL SNOW
ARE EXPECTED THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY MORNING WHEN THE SYSTEM IS
EXPECTED TO MOVE EAST. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE
LIKELY TO SPREAD FROM EASTERN AND SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO EAST THROUGH
WESTERN AND CENTRAL TEXAS/OKLAHOMA TODAY. THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM
SPREADS MORE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS INTO EAST TEXAS/OKLAHOMA
AND THE WESTERN GULF COAST ON FRIDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE
BELOW AVERAGE ACROSS THE CENTRAL/SOUTHERN HIGH PLAINS TODAY AND
TOMORROW DUE TO THE AFOREMENTIONED WINTER WEATHER AND ASSOCIATED
CLOUD COVER.

MEANWHILE, A QUASI-STATIONARY FRONT DRAPED ACROSS SOUTHERN FLORIDA
WILL BE THE FOCUS FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THROUGHOUT THE
REGION BEGINNING THIS AFTERNOON. THE EXCESSIVE RAINFALL THREAT
WILL INCREASE EACH DAY CULMINATING IN A HEAVY RAIN EVENT ACROSS
THE STATE ON SATURDAY. THERE'S AN UNUSUAL AMOUNT OF MODEL
UNCERTAINTY WITH THIS SYSTEM DUE TO THE LACK OF AGREEMENT
REGARDING THE EVOLUTION OF THE UPPER-LEVEL PATTERN OVER THE
CENTRAL U.S. OVER THE NEXT 48 HOURS. HIGH PRESSURE ON BOTH SIDES
OF THE UPPER TROUGH WILL SUPPORT A WARMING TREND FOR THE WEST AND
NORTHERN TIER OF THE COUNTRY OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
