...HEAVY SNOW OVER PARTS OF THE SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS, UPPER
GREAT LAKES AND CENTRAL ROCKIES...

..BELOW AVERAGE TEMPERATURES IN THE PLAINS

A SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WITH ITS ACCOMPANYING UPPER LEVEL
TROUGH WILL MOVE INLAND ACROSS THE WEST, HELPING TO FOCUS
ANOMALOUS MOISTURE OVER COASTAL AREAS AS WELL AS THE SOUTHERN
SIERRA NEVADA. IN LOWER ELEVATIONS OF THE SOUTHERN SIERRA NEVADA,
THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF EXCESSIVE RAINFALL/FLASH FLOODING
THROUGH TUESDAY. HEAVY SNOW IS PROBABLE AT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS,
WHERE 3 FOOT AMOUNTS, WITH LOCAL TOTALS TO 6 FEET, ARE FORECAST TO
ACCUMULATE BY WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE ANOMALOUS MOISTURE FEED IS
ALSO EXPECTED TO PENETRATE INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE WEST. PARTS OF
THE GREAT BASIN WILL EXPERIENCE SNOW SHOWERS WHILE HEAVY SNOW
BLANKETS THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST AND COLORADO ROCKIES WITH 1-2 FEET
(ISOLATED 4 FEET) LIKELY OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVING THROUGH THE GREAT LAKES INTO SOUTHERN
CANADA WILL GENERATE SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW OVER THE UPPER
PENINSULA OF MICHIGAN, WHILE SNOW SHOWERS OCCUR ACROSS THE GREATER
UPPER MIDWEST AND LOWER GREAT LAKES DUE TO THE COMBINATION OF COLD
AIR AT THE SURFACE AND ALOFT INTERACTING WITH GREAT LAKES WATER
TEMPERATURES (WHICH ARE AT RECORD LEVELS FOR LATE NOVEMBER). THE
BROAD CYCLONE WILL DRIVE A COLD FRONT THROUGH MUCH OF THE SOUTHERN
PLAINS AND SOUTHEAST BEFORE IT REBOUNDS NORTH AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM
MOVING THROUGH THE WEST INTO THE SOUTHERN PLAINS ON WEDNESDAY,
BRINGING THE THREAT OF RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES ACROSS
SOUTH-CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST TEXAS. MUCH OF THE PLAINS, MIDWEST,
AND GREAT LAKES WILL BE BELOW AVERAGE, YET SEASONABLY COLD. AHEAD
OF THE FRONT, MILD CONDITIONS CONTINUE OVER MUCH OF THE EAST COAST
THROUGH TUESDAY WITH WARM TEMPERATURES ACROSS FLORIDA THROUGH THE
FORESEEABLE FUTURE.
