NORTHWEST TO THE NORTHERN ROCKIES...  
 
...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OVER PARTS OF  
NORTHERN/CENTRAL CALIFORNIA...  
 
...LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW FROM THE GREAT LAKES TO THE NORTHEAST  
AND AREAS OF WINTERY MIX FROM WISCONSIN TO PENNSYLVANIA...  
 
UPPER-LEVEL ENERGY AND MOISTURE FROM THE PACIFIC WILL STREAM INTO  
PARTS OF THE NORTHWEST AND CALIFORNIA. A PLUME OF MOISTURE WILL  
STREAM INTO NORTHERN/CENTRAL CALIFORNIA, PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN  
THROUGH MONDAY. THEREFORE, THE WPC HAS ISSUED A SLIGHT RISK (LEVEL  
2/4) OF EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OVER PARTS OF NORTHERN/CENTRAL  
CALIFORNIA EACH DAY THROUGH MONDAY EVENING. THE ASSOCIATED HEAVY  
RAIN WILL CREATE MAINLY LOCALIZED AREAS OF FLASH FLOODING, WITH  
URBAN AREAS, ROADS, SMALL STREAMS, NARROW CANYONS/GULLIES, AND  
BURN SCARS THE MOST VULNERABLE.  
 
IN ADDITION, THE MOISTURE AND ENERGY WILL PRODUCE HEAVY SNOW OVER  
PARTS OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA/PACIFIC NORTHWEST INTO THE NORTHERN  
ROCKIES, LIKEWISE THROUGH MONDAY. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL TOTALS  
WILL BE NEAR OR ABOVE 48 INCHES IN THE ROCKIES.  
 
MEANWHILE, LOW PRESSURE AND ASSOCIATED FRONT OVER PARTS OF THE  
NORTHERN PLAINS WILL MOVE EASTWARD TO SOUTHEASTERN CANADA BY  
MONDAY. BY SATURDAY EVENING, THE SYSTEM WILL PRODUCE LIGHT SNOW  
OVER PARTS OF THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY/UPPER GREAT LAKES. RAIN  
WILL ALSO DEVELOP OVER PARTS OF THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. BY  
SUNDAY, ALONG THE RAIN/SNOW LINE, POCKETS OF RAIN/FREEZING RAIN  
WILL DEVELOP OVER PARTS OF THE UPPER MIDWEST INTO THE OHIO VALLEY.  
BY SUNDAY EVENING, SNOW AND RAIN WILL MOVE INTO THE LOWER GREAT  
LAKES/NORTHEAST ALONG WITH POCKETS OF RAIN/FREEZING RAIN OVER THE  
RAIN/SNOW LINE OVER PARTS OF NEW YORK STATE AND PENNSYLVANIA.  
MOREOVER, THE LIGHT SNOW AND RAIN WILL CONTINUE OVER PARTS OF THE  
NORTHEAST THROUGH MONDAY EVENING. ADDITIONALLY, LIGHT SNOW WILL  
DEVELOP OVER PARTS OF THE NORTHERN HIGH PLAINS TO THE UPPER GREAT  
LAKES OVERNIGHT SUNDAY, TAPERING OFF BY MONDAY MORNING.
