...TEMPERATURES WILL BE 10 TO 20 DEGREES BELOW AVERAGE ACROSS THE  
MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND THE CENTRAL PLAINS...  
 
...AN ELEVATED RISK OF FIRE WEATHER OVER PARTS OF THE  
NORTHERN/CENTRAL PLAINS AND SOUTHERN PLAINS ON FRIDAY...  
 
A FRONT EXTENDING FROM THE NORTHEAST ALONG THE EASTERN SEABOARD TO  
THE SOUTHEAST AND THEN OVER THE GULF COAST WILL MOVE OFF THE EAST  
COAST OVERNIGHT THURSDAY. ALSO OVERNIGHT, ON THURSDAY, A NEW FRONT  
WILL DEVELOP OVER THE NORTHERN PLAINS AND WILL MOVE SOUTH AND  
EASTWARD OFF THE NORTHEAST COAST ACROSS THE SOUTHERN MID-ATLANTIC  
INTO THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY BY SATURDAY EVENING.  
 
UPPER-LEVEL ENERGY ASSOCIATED WITH THE EASTERN SEABOARD FRONT WILL  
AID IN PRODUCING LIGHT SNOW OVER NORTHERN MICHIGAN AND PARTS OF  
THE NORTHEAST AND LIGHT RAIN OVER PARTS OF THE OHIO VALLEY,  
MID-ATLANTIC, AND SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND EARLY ON THURSDAY EVENING,  
TAPERING OFF TO LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS OVER PARTS OF THE NORTHEAST BY  
FRIDAY MORNING.  
 
FURTHERMORE, OVERNIGHT THURSDAY, THE DEVELOPING STORM OVER THE  
UPPER MIDWEST WILL PRODUCE HEAVY SNOW OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHERN  
MICHIGAN AND INTO FRIDAY. AS THE SYSTEM MOVES EASTWARD ON FRIDAY,  
LIGHT RAIN AND SNOW WILL DEVELOP OVER PARTS OF THE OHIO VALLEY AND  
LOWER GREAT LAKES. MOREOVER, MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW WILL DEVELOP  
OVER PARTS OF THE NORTHEAST, WITH LIGHT SNOW OVER PARTS OF THE  
CENTRAL APPALACHIANS FRIDAY EVENING INTO SATURDAY. IN THE WAKE OF  
THE STORM, LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL DEVELOP DOWNWIND FROM THE GREAT  
LAKES ON SATURDAY.  
 
WEAK UPPER-LEVEL RIDGING OVER THE MIDWEST WILL AID IN PRODUCING  
TEMPERATURES 10 TO 20 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE ACROSS THE MIDDLE  
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND THE CENTRAL PLAINS ON FRIDAY. IN ADDITION,  
THE SPC HAS ISSUED AN ELEVATED RISK OF FIRE WEATHER OVER PARTS OF  
THE NORTHERN/CENTRAL PLAINS AND SOUTHERN PLAINS ON FRIDAY.  
 
MEANWHILE, UPPER-LEVEL ENERGY MOVING ONSHORE OVER SOUTHERN  
CALIFORNIA ON FRIDAY WILL AID IN PRODUCING SCATTERED SHOWERS WITH  
EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS OVER PARTS OF THE STATE. FURTHER, BY FRIDAY  
NIGHT INTO SATURDAY, AN APPROACHING FRONT OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC  
WILL AID IN PRODUCING LIGHT RAIN OVER PARTS OF THE PACIFIC  
NORTHWEST AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA BY SATURDAY EVENING.
