HAWAII EXTENDED FORECAST DISCUSSION
NWS WEATHER PREDICTION CENTER COLLEGE PARK MD
317 AM EDT FRI APR 19 2024

VALID 00Z SAT APR 20 2024 - 00Z SAT APR 27 2024

THE HAWAII DOMAIN IS EXPECTED TO HAVE A RELATIVELY UNEVENTFUL
WEATHER PATTERN THROUGH THE UPCOMING WEEK, WITH SURFACE HIGH
PRESSURE CENTERED NORTH OF THE STATE THROUGH SATURDAY, AND THEN
THE HIGH REBUILDS THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. THIS WILL
GENERALLY EQUATE TO EAST-NORTHEASTERLY TRADES ON MOST DAYS. SOME
SLIGHT VEERING TO THE EAST IS LIKELY BY WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY AS THE
MAIN SURFACE HIGH BECOMES CENTERED NORTHEAST OF THE STATE. THERE
MAY BE A TROUGH THAT APPROACHES THE NORTHWESTERN ISLANDS BY THE
END OF THE WEEK, BASED ON THE LATEST GFS GUIDANCE. LIGHT TO
MODERATE TRADE WIND SHOWERS ARE LIKELY EACH DAY FOR THE FAVORED
TERRAIN, AND MAINLY DRY FOR SOUTHWESTERN PORTIONS OF THE ISLANDS.
