TRADE WINDS WILL BE TRANSITIONING TO A MORE EASTERLY DIRECTION AND
GRADUALLY STRENGTHENING ON WEDNESDAY AS SURFACE HIGHS DEVELOP WELL
NORTH OF THE STATE. THE HIGHS ARE LIKELY TO CONSOLIDATE AND
STRENGTHEN OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS, WHICH WILL IN TURN CAUSE TRADES
TO STRENGTHEN TO EVENTUALLY BREEZY LEVELS. MEANWHILE MODEL
GUIDANCE IS IN FAIRLY GOOD AGREEMENT WITH SHOWING A MID-UPPER
TROUGH/LOW CENTERED WEST OF HAWAII LATE WEEK AND THEN COMING
OVERHEAD BY EARLY NEXT WEEK. THIS COULD PROVIDE SOME INSTABILITY
FOR INCREASED SHOWERS, WHICH WOULD FAVOR WINDWARD AND MAUKA AREAS
GIVEN THE INCREASING TRADES. RAINFALL TOTALS DO NOT APPEAR TO BE
SIGNIFICANT THOUGH. THIS WET TRADE WIND PATTERN LOOKS TO CONTINUE
INTO MIDWEEK NEXT WEEK.
