HAWAII EXTENDED FORECAST DISCUSSION
NWS WEATHER PREDICTION CENTER COLLEGE PARK MD
348 AM EDT WED JUN 05 2024

VALID 00Z THU JUN 06 2024 - 00Z THU JUN 13 2024

TRADE WINDS WILL BE DECREASING WEDNESDAY AS RELATIVE SURFACE
TROUGHING DEVELOPS NORTH OF HAWAII BETWEEN TWO HIGHS WELL
NORTHWEST AND NORTHEAST OF THE STATE. A LAND/SEA BREEZE PATTERN IS
LIKELY FOR THURSDAY-FRIDAY AS BACKGROUND TRADES WEAKEN EVEN
FURTHER. MEANWHILE, A LOW INVERSION, LOWER THAN NORMAL MOISTURE,
AND RISING MID-UPPER HEIGHTS AS THE PATTERN FLIPS TO RIDGING ALOFT
BY LATE WEEK WILL ALL PROMOTE DRIER THAN NORMAL CONDITIONS ACROSS
THE STATE.

TRADES ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY RESTRENGTHEN EARLY NEXT WEEK BACK
TO MODERATE OR BREEZY LEVELS AS THE TYPICAL HIGH TO THE NORTH
REDEVELOPS. MOISTURE LEVELS MAY ALSO FINALLY TICK UP TO NORMAL OR
SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL INTO NEXT WEEK FOR SOME MINOR INCREASE IN
SHOWERS, BUT COVERAGE STILL MAY BE RELATIVELY LIMITED AS THE RIDGE
ALOFT STICKS AROUND.
