THE REMNANTS OF WHAT WAS TROPICAL STORM GILMA WILL TRACK JUST
NORTH OF THE MAIN ISLANDS THROUGH FRIDAY, BRINGING A PERIOD OF
ENHANCED RAINFALL TO MAINLY THE NORTHERN ISLANDS. MUCH OF THIS IS
NOT EXPECTED TO BE PARTICULARLY IMPACTFUL OR HEAVY, AS THE BETTER
RAINS/WINDS SHOULD BE ON THE NORTH AND EAST SIDE OF THE WEAK AREA
OF LOW PRESSURE. ONCE THIS CLEARS BY SATURDAY, UPPER RIDGING WILL
BUILD OVER THE ISLANDS WITH A RETURN TO A MORE NORMAL TRADE WIND
PATTERN AND DRIER CONDITIONS NEXT WEEK AS BELOW NORMAL
PRECIPITABLE WATER VALUES SETTLE INTO THE REGION. SURFACE HIGH
PRESSURE TO THE NORTHEAST SHOULD ESTABLISH MODERATE TO BRISK
TRADES AND WINDWARD SHOWER FOCUS BY EARLY NEXT WEEK, FOLLOWED BY A
WEAKENING TREND WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY AS THE SURFACE HIGH LIFTS AWAY
AND A FRONT REACHES A POSITION TO THE NORTHWEST OF THE STATE.
