HAWAII EXTENDED FORECAST DISCUSSION
NWS WEATHER PREDICTION CENTER COLLEGE PARK MD
356 AM EDT MON SEP 16 2024

VALID 00Z TUE SEP 17 2024 - 00Z TUE SEP 24 2024

HEAVY SHOWERS ARE CURRENTLY AFFECTING THE WINDWARD SIDES OF THE
HAWAIIAN ISLANDS, AS TROPICAL MOISTURE COMES INTO THE LOW TO
MID-LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE (700MB AND BELOW) AND PRODUCES
EFFICIENT RAIN. THE PLUME OF MOISTURE SHOULD MOVE GRADUALLY
WESTWARD ACROSS THE STATE THROUGH MONDAY FOR CONTINUED SHOWERS AND
MUGGY DEWPOINTS. MOISTURE LEVELS SHOULD RETURN CLOSER TO NORMAL BY
MIDWEEK. MEANWHILE, BREEZY EASTERLY TRADE WINDS ARE POSSIBLE ON
MONDAY AS THE TYPICAL PRESSURE GRADIENT TIGHTENS UP TEMPORARILY.
AFTER THAT, MODERATE TO LOCALLY BREEZY TRADES ARE FORECAST, WITH
SOME SHOWERS BUT NOT ANY WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAIN.
