LATEST MODEL GUIDANCE CONTINUE TO SHOW AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE AND
MEAN SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE NORTH TO NORTHEAST OF THE ISLANDS
MAINTAINING BRISK TO STRONG EASTERLY TRADE WINDS THROUGH AT LEAST
THIS WEEKEND. THIS MAY LEAD TO HIGH SURF WITH SHOWERS TENDING TO
FOCUS PRIMARILY OVER WINDWARD/MOUNTAIN LOCATIONS, WITH INCREASING
MOISTURE LEADING TO SOME HEAVIER SHOWERS ALONG EASTERN SLOPES OF
THE SOUTHERNMOST ISLANDS LATER IN THE WEEK/NEXT WEEKEND. AMPLIFIED
TROUGHING WILL SEND A COLD FRONT SOUTH TOWARDS HAWAII EARLY TO MID
NEXT WEEK, BUT THERE REMAINS UNCERTAINTY ON WHETHER THIS FRONT
WILL REACH AS FAR SOUTH AS THE NORTHERN ISLANDS. EITHER WAY, THIS
SHOULD RESULT IN TRADES TURNING MORE NORTHERLY AND WEAKENING.
