HAWAII EXTENDED FORECAST DISCUSSION
NWS WEATHER PREDICTION CENTER COLLEGE PARK MD
246 AM EST FRI NOV 22 2024

VALID 00Z SAT NOV 23 2024 - 00Z SAT NOV 30 2024

A SURFACE RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE STRETCHING WEST TO EAST ACROSS
HAWAII WILL LEAD TO DRY CONDITIONS, WITH PRECIPITABLE WATER VALUES
GENERALLY BELOW AN INCH AND DEWPOINTS INTO THE 60S, AND FEW IF ANY
SHOWERS. THE RIDGE WILL ALSO PROMOTE DECREASING TRADES THROUGH
FRIDAY WITH A LAND/SEA BREEZE PATTERN LIKELY BY SATURDAY. THESE
DRY CONDITIONS WITH LIGHT WINDS ARE FORECAST TO LAST THROUGH MUCH
OF THE WEEKEND.

THERE IS SOME SIGNAL FOR A WEAK FRONT TO APPROACH THE STATE LATE
SUNDAY INTO MONDAY, AND ANOTHER AROUND TUESDAY. SOME WEAK MOISTURE
CONVERGENCE ALONG/AHEAD OF THE FRONTS AND MOISTENING PWS COULD
LEAD TO A FEW MORE SHOWERS, BUT WITH NO WIDESPREAD HEAVY AMOUNTS.
WINDS SHOULD ALSO SHIFT TO BE FROM THE NORTH BEHIND THE FRONTS,
BUT LIKELY REMAINING ON THE WEAK SIDE. BY THE LATTER HALF OF NEXT
WEEK WINDS ARE FORECAST TO TURN BACK TO THE MORE TYPICAL EASTERLY
DIRECTION AND BECOME A BIT BREEZIER AS A WEAK SURFACE RIDGE SETS
UP TO THE NORTH.
