A WEAK RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE AT THE SURFACE WILL REDUCE EASTERLY
WIND SPEEDS THURSDAY, ALLOWING SOME LAND/SEA BREEZES TO SET UP.
AVAILABLE MOISTURE IN THE VICINITY OF THE ISLANDS AND A TROUGH
ALOFT COULD PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR LIGHT TO MODERATE SHOWERS, WITH
THE GREATEST COVERAGE OVER MAUI AND THE BIG ISLAND LASTING THROUGH
THURSDAY NIGHT. EASTERLY TRADES SHOULD REDEVELOP BY FRIDAY INTO
THE WEEKEND AND PERSIST INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. THIS WILL FAVOR
POSSIBLE SHOWERS ACROSS WINDWARD AND MAUKA AREAS, BUT LIKELY
LIMITED DUE TO UPPER RIDGING AND LACK OF MOISTURE. MOISTURE MAY
INCREASE SLIGHTLY AT TIMES MONDAY-NEXT THURSDAY BUT THIS DOES NOT
LOOK TOO DRAMATIC. WINDS MAY VEER IN AT LEAST THE WESTERN ISLANDS
BY AROUND MIDWEEK IN RESPONSE TO A FRONT TO THE NORTHWEST; THIS
FRONT MAY APPROACH CLOSER BY LATE NEXT WEEK.
