HAWAII EXTENDED FORECAST DISCUSSION
NWS WEATHER PREDICTION CENTER COLLEGE PARK MD
324 AM EST SAT NOV 8 2025

VALID 00Z SUN 09 NOV 2025 - 00Z SUN 16 NOV 2025

AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT WILL BRING AN INCREASING RISK OF RAIN
SHOWERS ACROSS THE NORTHERN ISLANDS TODAY, PUSHING SOUTHWARD
TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY. WEAK FORCING AND SHALLOW MOISTURE WILL LIMIT
RAINFALL RATES AND REDUCE THE RISK OF ANY FLOODING. HOWEVER
PERSISTENT EASTERLY FLOW INTO THE TERRAIN SHOULD STILL SUPPORT A
FEW INCHES OF RAIN, ESPECIALLY THE WINDWARD PORTIONS OF MAUI AND
THE BIG ISLAND, WHERE THE HREF MEAN AND LATEST ECMWF SUPPORT
UPWARDS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN THROUGH MONDAY.

STRONG WINDS ARE LIKELY BEHIND THE FRONT WITH AN EAST-
NORTHEASTERLY DIRECTION. WINDS SHOULD SHIFT BACK SLIGHTLY TO THE
EASTERLY DIRECTION INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK WHILE REMAINING BREEZY TO
STRONG AS SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE SETS UP NORTH OF THE STATE.
ANOTHER FRONT MAY APPROACH HAWAII MID TO LATE WEEK, BRINGING
ANOTHER ROUND OF LIGHT TO MODERATE PRECIPITATION AS WINDY
CONDITIONS CONTINUE.
